Mailer's Outlet Mail Marketplace Also Ripped Off by Kirk Johnsom Duluth Minnesota

We purchased two direct mail conveyors from Mailer's Outlet ~ Kirk Johnson. We were looking for a particular piece of equipment to work with our existing equipment and we found it online through his website. The equipment was also listed on Ebay. I contacted Kirk, he was very friendly and professional on the phone and even sent me a link to a YouTube video of the equipment. We decided to make the purchase so we talked about price, shipping and expected time of delivery. Everything seemed to be legitimate and seeing a video of the equipment was like confirmation that he had it ready to be shipped. I sent Kirk a check for $2,450 on 3/19/14 expecting to receive the equipment with 14 days. Two weeks went by then three so we started sending emails to find a delivery date - no response. Initially we started feeling that perhaps it was a case of selling something you didn't have but expected to receive some soon – but that wasn't the case at all.

I asked one of my co-workers to call on another phone number that Kirk wouldn’t recognize and leave a message that we were interested in some equipment so we would get a call back. We eventually did get a call back, but when he found out it was us he gave some message of delay but the equipment was still coming. Another two weeks went by and I received a letter in the mail stating that the company was going through financial difficulty and understanding would be appreciated. I assume Kirk uses this technique thinking it will help him avoid legal trouble. This was the last we’ve heard from Kirk and it’s now 7/22/14 – four months after he cashed our check.

We’ve since found the equipment we were looking for locally and purchased it. We told the company we purchased the equipment from our story of being Ripped Off by Kirk Johnson and he shared with me that Kirk has a reputation for this behavior and about his old website mailmarketplace.com that he shut down because of all the complaints he received. This was not welcome news, but we at least know that we are not alone in being Ripped Off by Kirk Johnson and that’s how I found this website. I only wish I had found it before our loss.
