I too received an offer to clear up an old debt and get a new start on a new credit card as I pay off my old debt. The offer sounds great and I almost accepted. I decided to find their website and my search engine directed me here. I was very surprised and thankful for having the opportunity to check out the company first. I am so sorry so many people were scammed. I was their next victim.

I believe their name has changed from Aspire to Majestic Visa. It's called the Majestic Fresh Start Solution and Visa Card. However it is still issued by the same bank Columbus Bank & Trust Company.

Thank you all so much. I only hope there are more skeptical people out there who will benefit from this site. I am now ripping up my offer as I finish this sentence. Thanks again.

This is in fact a scam

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

Despite what other responses have said, this is in fact a scam.

First of all, why would a company inform you that you have an old debt that you have never paid while at the same time offering you a new credit card? This is absolutely ridiculous.

Second, no company will ever force you to sign up for something new (especially another credit card) in order for you to pay off an old debt. All they want is their money.

Third, you can stay on top of all of this yourself. You can get your credit report for free at www.annualcreditreport.com and if there are any unpaid debts on there that are legitimate, contact the company directly (the contact info is on your credit report), and tell them you want to pay it without signing up for even more credit.

I also recieved a letter from this company with the same offer only the debt they were claiming I owed was paid in full five years ago. I contacted them and informed them about this and recieved no help, so I pulled up my own credit report with the proof that this debt was paid years ago. I contacted them again only an hour later with the proof and before I could even say anything was told that the offer was expired and they could not pull up any of my information.

I have filed complaints against them with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trades Commission and I would suggest you do the same.

It sounds like you had enough common sense to realize that this company was scamming you. Thank god you did before you sent them any money.

Again, if you do in fact have an old debt and would like to pay it, deal with it yourself. Nobody will ever force you to take out more credit or sign up for new programs just to pay off your debt, that's ludicras.

Not A Ripoff

The offer is legitimate and a very constructive way to make a bad situation better by both removing the blight of a collection account on one's credit report and re-establishing credit by opening a new account or trade line.

Payments are scheduled to bring the balance left owing on the delinquent to a certain level. Once reached all that is due and owing is places on a new credit card with a small amount of credit left over for the use of the customer. It does work, it is not a rip off and the only draw back is the terms and conditions of the new credit card are not as favorable as they could be, but this is an offer to customers who have A. burned this creditor before and B. probably would not qualify for a better deal on their own.

I would strongly suggest being proactive and making timely payments with or without written statements. Payment amount and address are given over the phone and it can't be that difficult to fill out an envelope yourself and mail it in.

Every representative I have encountered at this company has been professional and helpful. This is your credit and your future and you are being given a second chance. Stay on top of it and you will have a new credit card worth a few hundred dollars and a bad mark off your credit report.

so how exactly do you plan to pay off the old debt? not do it? thats mature. Majestic visa not only pays part of your debt for you, reports the accnt paid in full after 1/2 is paid but sends you a card at 0 % interest. you refused?!?!?! this site seems to be full of people that simply dont want to pay the bill. Thousands of people have used this to their advantage and have had no problems. yes their name was changed from aspire to to majestic abt 1 1/2 years ago. the reason you are finding very little on the net about majestic and jefferson capital is because its a very new company.
