Marianne Virgili aka Marianne Balotta Virgili, President and CEO  of the Glenwood Springs Chamber of Commerce in Glenwood Springs, Colorado is once again under suspicion of fraud, embezzlement and misuse of power. Able, for the past 9 months, to attempt to sneak under public radar by once again crying out that "someone is framing me!!"....."someone is out to get me"!!!   Don't believe one word of it.  Read on for the real facts.

I am a former employee of Marianne Virgili and years ago when I blew the whistle on her, she tried the same thing.  Blaming "disgruntled former employee", etc. etc. etc."    Back then, only questions were asked of the Chamber and the hand picked by Virgili board let it all slide.

In 2005, (3) more employees came forward and in an unnerving and spine chilling similarity to 2009 as she is turned in by a private citizen whose store was the victim of Marianne's credit card fraud activities; the whistle blew again in a big way.  Though Virgili is trying to make it sound like she is a victim of a plot out to get her by that brave private citizen......we who worked under Virgili know better.  The full truth is that there are no lies being spread about the disgustingly corrupt Marianne Virgili.  This citizen did not even know who she was until August of 2008 and knew nothing about Virgili's past until forced to come after her in Spring of 2009.    But..........we know her past.

Behind closed doors at the Chamber, Marianne first wove her way into my personal life (all others will say the same..she starts there).  Finding out all about me.  One of her fav methods is to call herself "Fairy Godmother" and her saying is "bippity, bobity, BOO!" when she starts showering the gifts and seemingly kind ear to life difficulties. (when investigators start getting into her...every employee or contractor will say same).  And then it starts.  Lavish gifts, trips, what you think are shared confidences.  All the while, stepping up her campaign in house to "push the agenda for me now"...."do what it takes to make "us" shine".  One thing leads to another and before anyone ever realizes the magnitude and far reaching consequences of the marketing campaigns of hers; some kind of scandal arises.  Political races in City Councils and Commissioners had targets and all of them were people strong enough to stand up to her or who had spoken against her.  At times we were actually forced to concoct billing lists and mailing lists so more money would flow in.  Money that when we would be put in charge of an event....just somehow had magically disappeared.  Each time, we would sit down and track what trip, in what part of the country, Marianne and John Virgili were on.

Chamber functions we watched as a bulging wallet full of credit cards would be whipped out and one of those giggles of Mariannes would pop up with..."eenie, meenie, miney mo!".  Every employee who has ever worked for her will tell you stories of having come under fire by Marianne Virgili whenever her use of credit cards with the Chamber of Commerce name on them were used for obviously personal expenditures.

No one who tracks this woman, including private citizens such as the group with the www.safeplacetowhistleblowonnonprofits.blogspot.com group; can believe how she slipped through the net for the past 12 years now or how much she is getting away with as this time, a private citizen
