I purchased a ring from Harry Vartanian on February 9, 2013 from his retail store. It was a custom made order and he asked me to pay a deposit for the ring. I gladly did so thinking that he would make my wife the exact ring she wanted. After waiting three weeks for the custom ring I went to go pick it up the ring. I noticed right away that the ring was not like the picture we had given him. I brought it to his attention and told him I don't know if this will work for my wife. Harry told me to take the ring to my wife and if she didn't like it he could fix or remake the ring. I paid him the balance even though I didn't feel comfortable doing so and left. My wife is not a picky person and she originally told me it was okay and that she would just use it after two days she admitted to me that it wasn't what she wanted and after spending a lot of money I felt I had to go back and tell Harry I was unhappy. When I returned to his store and told him the situation he turned on me and was super rude and started to insult me and my wife that we are tasteless and don't know jewelry like he does. He started saying crazy things that hes been doing business for over 40 years and everyone knows how good his products are. I was shocked that any store owner can turn on a client who was just unhappy with the product. I told him I want my money back and he told me my wife had worn the ring and that I set him up and that he won't accept my return. I had paid cash for the ring or else I would have done a charge back immediately. I knew he had me up against the wall so I nicely tried to work with him but he was even ruder by the minute. I couldn't handle him anymore and I left the store. I learned two lessons from this never trust a Harry Vartanian the owner of Marvel Jewelry and never pay cash for jewelry that you want custom made.
