Apple Valley P2/P3 Mary Jane NeCamp Scam

Mary Jane NeCamp asked us to send payment as a PayPal gift instead of a service payment to reduce the fee. This was our first mistake, as it completely eliminates any chance we would have to get a refund.

We arrived to find the condo permeated with both mold and mildew. The $0.60 furnace filter was clogged with dirt and mold. After replacing it and running 2 box fans for about 6 hours, we were able to enter, but still had headaches from the quantity of mold in the air.

I tried to contact the Mary by email, text, and phone, but got no response.

Despite the lies in the listing...
* The sauna hasn't been operational for 10 years (long before this was posted).
* You CANNOT connect to the internet from within the condo. There is no modem or wifi, and cell signal is terrible.

The nearest public hotspot is 600+ feet away and doesn't work if you're standing underneath it, since it's shared by 65+ residents.

The carpets are stained and dirty, switches and corners black with filth, walls and ceilings stained with leaks and mold. The tubs were full if body hair and spiders, and the tub mats were so old they made the tubs even more slippery. Much of the furniture is stained with white fluids.

P3 has 2 beds, but there is only a partial wall separating them, and the ceiling structure is an echo chamber between them; the softest whispers can be heard from one bed to the next. Also, there is no way to exit the 2nd bedroom without going through the 1st. ZERO privacy, better to sleep downstairs - but there's no sofa bed, just a futon, making that impossible for 2 couples.

Both B2 and P3 were designed as 1-bedroom condos. If P3 had a sofa bed instead of a futon, it could be considered a 2BR perhaps, but definitely NOT as it is currently configured. I would consider P2 closer to a 2BR, but neither actually are.

This may not be a problem for a family, but for 2 couples, this arrangement is not acceptable, and the deceptive advertising here is repulsive.

The owner failed to respond for days, was unhelpful, and refused to refund any portion of our stay. I hope VRBO takes this listing offline.
