Mary (Pacha) Jarvis And Tupper Lake Housing Authority Getting substantial federal grants but no improvements! Tupper Lake New York

I began reading what all of you wrote and decided to see what facts we could reveal. My sister lives in Tupper Lake and I have seen Ivy Terrace.

In fact, recently we taped some of the activities taking place there. The most disturbing by far was observing the children, mostly small children, unsupervised, running wild.

I would like to clarify something that I found insulting. All of you say you are 'Low income" I hate to be the reality police but, most everyone that lives there are, "No income" You see, welfare is not an income. You do not earn it.

Hard working taxpayers fund it. Another thing, "Child Support" is money paid to the custodial parent to assist in the needs of the child (ren). But there again, that is exactly what you are supposed to be doing with your welfare checks. Go to your local library & research what exactly child support is for. The child (rens) needs. That is food, shelter, heat, clothing etc. Not cable TV. Cell phones for mom etc. There are several persons residing at Ivy Terrace with criminal records. When we were filming the apartment complex, we witnessed destruction, filth, drugs and drinking. It costs a large sum of money to repeatedly do repairs caused by the tenants.

I am also a landlord and I have to say, I would never allow the behavior in one of our rentals. By the way, my husband & myself buy brand new automobiles every 2 years. We earn our money, and we are the taxpayers supporting all of you. And in conclusion, I plead with each and every one of you to have someone teach you how to use "Spell-check." Your letters reflect uneducated, disrespectful and ungrateful freeloaders. Except Dorithy Foley, my hats off you to Dorithy.

i am a tenant at the tupper lake ivy terrace. my family and myself have been here for awhile now. and i know of at least 2 different people living here with felonies.penny shanty and maureen thompson(lizotte).what is wrong with this.but yet these two felons live here and others are being thrown out for oblivious situations that could have been respectably taken care of.mary just likes to make things tough on some people when she realizes that they have gotten the better of her.the tupper lake folks would be quite shocked of they ever seen half the threats she writes and sends around to us that live here still.so if people have felonies should they be allowed to live here still as well??????

it is to bad that you did live here once upon a time at the ivy terrace and still you dont know a god d**n thing your talking about. as for the two bedroom apartments. they are now 24 years old. they are still referred to mary as the new units, and they are not new by any means what so ever. the 2 bedroom apartmenst here do not have their heat included in their rent. we pay seperate amounts thank you. it cost me $200 to turn on my electric and i very well pay my electric bill every single month like any other individual in this town. also we do not have blinds for our windows that are included as the 3 and 4 bedrooms do. s when you get talking about the crive please know what youre talking about before you open your mouth up and a bunch of garbage falls out of it!

you make me laugh about other peoples kids being animals when your children are always being arrested for stealing, vandalism, and even lost their kids for neglect.

and your grandchildren were sent to places where they put kids that their parents cant handle them.

I've lived at Ivy Terrace several times within the last 10 years, and never found it to be that bad. In fact, when I was down on my luck, and low income, it gave my family a place to live.

My rent was always fair, especially considering the heat and electricity are included. The rent went by my child support received also, but if you had to go and apply for public assistance or medicaid, these agencies would also consider child support received. (Child support is meant for the care of the child, directly OR indirectly, therefore it IS a source of income). You can ask any public housing agency, or director. They'd tell you it's perfectly legal.

I NEVER had Ron or Joe going through my things, or peeking into my apartment. I actually laugh at the thought of that, because they were always decent and respectful to me. Not to mention, whenever I needed something repaired, it was almost always done the same day.

I don't think the fact that Mary has a new vehicle or nice things makes her a crook to the public housing agency. She and her husband probably make a decent living, and have good credit. What's so suspicious about that? More power to them if they can make a good life for themselves.

Public housing, in my opinion, is meant for lower income people. If your income goes beyond a certain point, of course you'll pay out your a*s for rent! If you read your lease agreement it says: RENT GOES BY 30% OF YOUR GROSS INCOME (minus a couple of deductions they take out). If you don't agree with that, why sign your lease and move in?! As I recall, there's a meeting prior to all tenants moving in which fully explains the lease. YOU DON'T SIGN SOMETHING YOU DON'T AGREE TO.

The only complaint I ever had with Ivy Terrace was some of the unruly, disrespectful kids running around. Some of them swore like truckers, and broke everything in sight. For that, I don't blame the employees of the housing authority. I blame parents who don't know how to supervise, and discipline their kids (Apparently, it's easier to let them run around like animals).

Seems like there's a good chance that even if one or more Ivy Terrace residents complained to the Federal authorities about Mary Jarvis she still would have her job afterward. But maybe the experience of having to answer some unpleasant questions might cause her to clean-up her act at least a little.

You might want to start with the Albany Field Office since, even if you wrote to HUD's Washington headquarters, the Albany Field Office staff would be given the job of following-up on your complaints.

when i lived in ivy i knew they would snoop threw every ones appt. but several times peepin threw every ones windows when the shades were half pulled they kneeled down twisting thier head to try to see in the windows weres the privacey isnt it against the law for them do this sort of things what makes them above the law? as well i remember that when i lived thier when marry had a large grant it was suposed to be used for a NEW PLAY GROUND but they put a tiny lil play ground in and they didnt fix the baskette ball court its all broken glass over thier the swings are broke kids got hurt on them . and the new floors they got last year was cheap materails its was left in the rain to get damaged she hired a company that allowed robert fox and a few othiers that live in ivy terrace to work under the table and fraud welfare the floors were not put in properly so i wounder how much money marry gets in her pockette? as it was it took her like 2 or more years after she got the grant to put the play ground in i wonder how long those who live thier had to waite for thier floors to be put in?
i think they should add more appartments in cause ivy is the only place you can find 3 or more bed rooms in its hard to find places to rent in tupper even harder to find big enough ones for big familys to live oops i almost forgot marry has knows when she has messed up and when you try to get the number of the main house athuritys mary seem not to no that number she trys to advoide given to us as well her secertary told me she dosent no the number and marys the only one allowed to give that she also wanted to no why i wanted the number for she refused to give it to me

i know well of mary, i put an application in to move there, i was homeless with a newborn and she turned me away without emergency housing because she dont like me.

When mary first came to conquer ivy terrace she went out to the playground and asked the children there who their parents were and if they worked and what their names were.

She runs that place like a concentration camp, her "maintenance men" will sneak around early morning hours before daybreak and report to mary who he saw coming or going from whoevers home.
they go to your apartment to make repairs or paint and if you are smart and check up on them you will most definitly find them rummaging through your belongings. thats how a friend of mine caught her son hiding porn magazines they went through his drawers and instead of painting they were looking at his porn magazines, they were caught red handed.

the above rebuttals are true you can ask anyone who used to live there about mary , she overcharges you rent for sure and acts like you owe her for the priviledge of you being there. Really folks its like a mini concentration camp. I am willing to bet that it wont be long before she makes the unfortunate tenants there line up and salute her as she comes to work, or face eviction if they dont,because she is so self rightious.

i know many people there would like to have her investagated and stopped as they all know that ev erytime they get funding for a new progect, mary gets a new car!!!! but noone knows who to contact as she wont give them any contact numbers...she is the worst landlord i have ever heard of or seen, her new husband is the ex judge also so good luck trying to get some justice from all this as they know what strings to pull...will be watcing this site for updates but nothing mary does will surprise me. ivy terrace should be renamed hogans heros,lol....just me, from tupper lake

my sister in law moved to ivy when she finaly could find work mary up her rent 800.dollars monthly hows that affordable it was more over more then half over her paycheck.

at that price she could have a morgage payment on a house. i used to live thier in ivy she came over told me id have to pay my own eletric bill cause i kept my appt to warm now every one knows eletric is free thier so go figure she end up charing me xtra .

i think mary should loose her job she wont let certine ones move in thier because she dont like thier family or one of thier friends after all its not them she would be renting to and it wasnt like they even would be hanging over thier even .

one woman wanted to rent from mary because she needs a place to live just got a divorce marys response was no i dont like your hubby and you will end back togther and said she heard he was a drug dealer the woman asked 4 that in writting marys stoery was completly differnt then she told that lady.

did i fail to mention that that woman rented from mary for 5 years when she she moved mary told her she could always rent again because she was a great tenant

can someone please explain also how child support gets processed as an earned income there. child support is sent from the non custodial parent who is required to work and pay there child support court order. last i knew child support was for the children not to pay rent. it should be illegal for anyone to use child support, the custodial parent is not out there earning this money sent to them by the court house, they are recieving it from the other parent who does not live in the household to help support and raise their child or children. so when was it legalized that a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, (and so on) year old child could pay rent??? makes no sense to me and if you think about it, this housing authority is taking away from these children and this should be another matter looked into. so many issues on this child support matter.

example here is, say someone there had a court order that mary jarvis photo copied, and it was for the amount of $80 a week. and say you grossed $120 a week working. well mary takes the child support order and right off the bat says well if they get 80 a week and all together get $320 a month in support then she automatically pays 80 a month from the support order, then she takes whatever you "gross" not your net, but your gross, and figures out an amount there and tacks it onto the rent also. so you see where i am coming from now on this issue???

mary jarvis banned kerri beaudette and her 3 children from the ivy terrace without bringiing her to court for this order. kerri has never been to court for this matter. and when she goes there to visit her aunt who lives there and her best friend shelly exware, mary calls and writes threatening letters to these girls threatening to evict them if she hears or sees that they are there. is this legal for her to do??????

mary jarvis also tried stating that she banned brandy roberts from the ivy terrace and brandy has never been to court either. brandy is on ssi and has legally signed her daughter over to her terminally ill mother who lives at the ivy terrace to raise her grand-daughter there. she is on a fixed income also. anyways when brandy went to visit her mother carol roberts was sent a threatening letter by mary jarvis stating that she was evicted. carol was frantic. she called a lawyer and the lawyer helped her find new housing in watertown ny. comlinks is coming in to help her move her and her grand-daughters belongings to her new home in watertown.

now you tell me, can she do this???? how legal is this and why isnt fair housing stepping in here and checking thouroughly as to what is going on in that good old american office mary jarvis and mary jo bedore run????

cmon, we want to see fair housing come in and see what is happening. call each resident there and find out. they would be quite shocked.

shes unfair and a lyer its my personal opinon that marry scams money from ivy terrace she hierd retards to put the floors in i bet if some one looks in to it u might find out she stole money from the funds those so called janitors walk in every ones house go through thier stuff they even left my door wide open when i called them they said yeah i went in ur place my window was open they stuck a hose threw it thier repliey was" we need to hook up a hose for something and so big deal we left your door wide open what u want me to walk down aND CLOSE IT LOLO im on lunch break get over it" thier all looser one person was late on thier rent at xmas she turned them in to child abuse oput of spite told the reson to sell the kids xmas toys 4 all she care .anothier time a person paid thier rent went on vaca she throwed all thier stuff a way and thier rent was paid up to date.these people move thier cvause thier poor marry threw thier kids clothes and every thing they owned marry is a drit bag slum lord the matience guys have been accused of taking thing as well . marry dosent need to work thier no more shes a self centerd ****
