Massage Envy,  Swiped my debit card twice but only gave me a receipt for the smaller amount- I was not aware they had taken another 49.00 until the bank charged me 60.00 in overdraft fees Brookfield Wisconsin

 I have been a member of Massage Envy for well over a year. I have felt cheated on treatment time a number of times- it's not the therapists fault- they don't even have 5 minutes in between clients to get the room ready for the next client. We always start at least 10 minutes into what should be an hour to an hour and a half session. I was granted a free half hour at one point and only got 10 minutes of it. That was the therapists fault- she diappeared for 15 minutes after she brought me back to the room. I did say something and she added about 7 minutes onto the session at the end.

Recently I had to get a new debit card and alerted Massage Envy that they would not be able to auto charge my account until the new card came. I brought in the new card at my next appointment and the girl at the desk took the card and said she was updating my account. I had also asked for an extra 30 minutes and she gave me the receipt for the 18.00. She never said she was taking another payment  and did not hand me another receipt. I did not find out until I was hit with 60.00 in fees from my bank because I did not have the money in the account that the girl had also taken 49.00 more dollars from the account that evening to make up for the missed autopay. I have no problem with paying for the month but she had an obligation to ask me if I wanted to use that card, to tell me she was taking more money out of the account and to offer me a receipt as I was standing right there.

I called the manager and in the end we worked out a deal were I would get a free 30 minutes to use when I wanted and the fee for the next month would be waived. That almost added up to the 60.00 in bank fees so I excepted that. When I used the extra 30 minutes I really only got 10 minutes as the therapist disappeared for 15 minutes. She usually starts late but this time was way over the limit and I said something. The next time I came should have been my "free" massage. The girl at the desk tried to charge me 39.00 for it. I said the fee for October had been waived and she said since the fee was not paid I would have to pay for the massage. I said that was not what we worked out and that I had not come out ahead that way or even been partly compensated for what happened and I never would have excepted that deal. I refused to pay, alerted my bank not to let them withdrawl any fees from my account and will try and talk to the manager once more about this. I feel I was lied to and that the manager twisted words and then told the girl at the front desk something else hoping I would pay.

I really like the therapist and would like to keep seeing her but if we cannot work this out then I will be leaving Massage Envy and there will be no months notice either. They have ripped me off enough already.
