Be VERY careful when you hire a company to make your lawn lush and take pictures of your yard before, during and after!!

Massey was hired in April 2013 because I had a lot of weeds, I still had a VERY good base of St Augustine grass, I just wanted the lush crazy grass I saw with other yards that used them.

After the first treatment we were very impressed ~ the weeds were dying and the grass was getting thicker. It was obvious that if it kept up our grass would be thick. After the second month a few weeds started to show up. There is a guarantee that you do not pay after 30 days until you are satisfied but since we were satisfied thus far we paid but made a call to tell them about the weeds.

After that we continued to call every two weeks it seemed. In August the weeds began to take over so I made an appointment with our salesperson Billy Heuslin and explained I lived an hour away and had to leave work quite early to meet them. [continued below]....

..... He did not show. I called and demanded someone come since I took off and I was sent a "service manager" Rob DeLorenzo. 

There is no service at all with this company. This man told me he agreed my yard was in bad shape for having service for 4 months and they would attempt to fix it but would re-sod if necessary. He said he would keep in touch with me and also consult his manager and let me know. 

The "service manager" came a few days later and sprayed the yard himself. Used my hose and left it laid out in the yard when he was done. Minor bs compared to everything else.

I did not receive a call for about 2 weeks despite his promise to keep me updated and check my yard himself, so when some of the weeds but A LOT of the grass started to die I sent him pictures and requested another appointment which was 2 days ago. I explained I was afraid of a fine from the HOA and demanded something be done since it is now September and if we wait too long the sod will not take. He was very agreeable with every section I said needed to be re-sodded and AGAIN said he would get with a manager and would make an appointment with me the next day for both of them to go over the plan with me. I explained I needed a call in the morning to confirm so I could make the hour drive in time.

By 1:30 I had not heard from him, left a message with the office. By 3:00 no call so I called again and she confirmed he would be there at 5:30. Nobody from Massey ever showed, called and at 7:30 I finally called and demanded to speak to someone. Since they cannot find it to believe my time and my yard are important I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, will be posting this on every website I can find and will look into legal options which should not be hard because of the pictures I have before and after and the documentation via phone and email.

Just in case I hope everyone is aware so it does not happen to them.

Massey Repairs Yard To Our Satisfaction

After posting this report Jeff, the General Manager for Massey Green Up contacted me. He was understandably not happy about what he had seen online. I made no apologies for my post as his staff had pushed me to the furthest level of frustration I have ever dealt with before and this site gave me an edge that I think finally made things happen.

After discussing MY understandably not being happy with their services Jeff initiated a plan of action to repair the lawn which included spraying the lawn for a period of time to see if any grass would come back; anything that did not come back would be re-sodded.

In November & December the last of my lawn was re-sodded and to date is growing in very nicely. They have made good on their promise to fix my yard so I am posting a picture of the yard now.

Nothing can ever take away the frustration of months and months of what I went through but I am very happy with the way my yard looks now and intend to stay with them. Hopefully the staff has also learned the importance of communication and customer service when it comes to complaints. I hope not to have any in the future!
