I bought a used 2004 S500 for $27,900 from Masters cars located on 275 northern blvd. Great Neck NY On 11/17/2008.The dealer failed to tell me that the car was a manufacture buy back. I asked for a car fax report and I believe that he showed me the carfax for another vehicle. The carfax i was shown only said that the car had a minor tire pressure issue and a right headlight was replaced which was resolved by mercedes. I traded in a 2004 maxima se with 110000miles on it for 5000 and gave the dealer 23,100 in a certified bank check. I picked up the car on monday and was out of the dealership around 8pm. The following day service codes for the tire pressure began to pop up. I went on line and checked the carfax and this is where i learned that there was problem with this car. The dealer did not give me the car fax in the paperwork as he stated he would also. I thought that it was strange that he said he had to overnight the title to me. I called the dealer the next day on wed 11/19 9am. Explained the issue and was told to bring it back. When i came in the same day I was told that they could not exchange the for and even trade. They wanted to give me trade in value of the s500 which was now $22,500 and they were keeping my 2004 maxima trade. I am very upset I had a junk car with no title, my trade was gone and i am out $23,100. I just asked for an equivalent trade and was denied asked to pay $7000 addtional for another comparable priced car.I was jerked. After I called the police and made a scene they gave me a post dated check for $22,500 and told me they didnt have my maxima anymore. In one day I lost $5600 and my 2004 maxima with no liens. I feel they should give me back what i paid for the s500 27900 and what i accepted for my trade 5000. Norm is the manager and Al is the sales person. They took advantage of me by not even given me a the title which im sure would have canceled our deal had i seen that the car was a lemon or manufacture buy back.
