I subscribed to a 3-month Match.com membership at $59.97 which was confirmed in my account interface. This corresponds w/ their widely advertised monthly rate of $19.99. However, I just noticed - as my membership was about to expire - that my bank account has been charged $29.99 EVERY MONTH of these three months which is of course $89.97. Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm following up to get my time extended or a refund. I am thinking of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I'm sure they do this routinely and assume that some people won't notice what has been charged to their bank. This is FAR too common on the Internet and we should fight it.

Terms and Conditions

Ok, when you signed up, the terms and conditions stated if you don't renew or cancel by a certain date, you will be charged a "by the month" access fee. I used their services and when my account was about to expire, I followed the directions on how to cancel membership and was not charged one penny more than I used the service.
Unfortunately in this day and age of legal jargon and what not, you have to protect yourself and actually read those terms otherwise you set yourself up for issues such as these.
By match.com's right, they charged you because you didn't follow the guidelines to cancel, so I don't think they are going to refund you. But you can cancel now and prevent further charges.
Good Luck!
Charles
