I worked with a company who needed to have a good sized Canon copier stored.  It was the copier, finisher, and a scan station.

McCollisters picked up the equipment and allegedly placed it in storage.  I do not know for sure it made it there, but their inventory system showed it was there.

A few years passed and the time came to send the copier back to the leasing company, Canon Financial.  It took a number of attempts to get someone at McCollisters.  When we did, they agreed to do the return shipping to Canon Financial.

We checked back about a week later and were told the equipment was "Lost".  "Lost" to me means an item is misplaced.  Given the size of the stored equipment and that it was bar coded (allegedly) and also has serial numbers on it, how exactly is it "lost?"Every time something is moved, it is scanned and logged.  So, that would mean one of two things:

a)  the copier is still there, they just did not care enough to look for it very hard.  (very likely)

or

b)  someone removed the copier and avoided using their bar code scanning, thus taking the equipment without the knowledge of the warehouse.  Which to me would mean it was stolen.  Someone came in off the street and took it or an employee was involved.

Canon Financial charged $12,700 for the copier that McCollisters lost.  McCollisters offered $400.80 to compensate for the claim.

If you have anything of value, heed my warning and avoid McCollisters Transportation at all costs.  From my experience, they do not have a secure warehouse, have incompetent and rude employees, possibly employees who steal from the warehouse, and they have an ineffective inventory management system so things being lost does not seem like something new over there.  It appeared to me things are lost all the time.
