McCoy Plumbing ripoff Price gouging in an emergency situation Norfolk Virginia

What really made me comment on this, well, I have been with this company for over three years , I am a good person , a single mom of three and I work hard. I do have compassion am proud to work there because of the honest people that work with,the owner,the plumbers,. The prices are fair and competitive I am sure of that we check yearly.

The economy has driven every thing up and every one is filling the pinch,our prices in the past five years have only changed once.It is regrettable that Mrs.Patty had a bad experience with our company.

The work done by this company is done to the highest standard, there are no quick fixes am proud to say that this is not a common situation.And again it is really regreatable.

Hope I spelled every thing correctly I would hate to have my intelligence insulted again.I am not here to trade words. The insults you make weren't just about the prices,it was also that they were trying to take advantage of you and that is what really made me comment. THAT IS NOT TRUE.

Oh...and I did sell the house about a year AFTER another company correctly fixed all the problems for right for right around $300.00. Once the other company corrected the problems, I never had another back up again..

The ironic thing is that this woman...if she is the one I spoke with, was absolutely wonderful while I dealt with her. I have never said anything bad about her...she was actually quite helpful. My how things change in 2 years.

Now I will say no more on this subject.

This report was filed TWO years ago. I have sense sold the house and moved out of the area. You can tell by reading the rebuttal report the type of company I dealt with. The person from the company can't spell or use proper grammer and they are representing the company. That is pretty poor. As for the slander threat, I welcome a lawsuit. First of all...Slander is when SPOKEN untruths are told..LIBEL is for written. The other companies were quick to point out the cleanout on the roof as the best way to snake the drains. McCoy didn't even bother to mention that little fact. Just the fact that they wanted 650.00 for a cleanout and the other two companies wanted 250.00 speaks for itself.

It is over and done with and I have moved on with my life....McCoy didn't care 2 years when I filed this report...why the sudden care now???

And one more thing...I do not now nor have I EVER used foul language with anyone!! Talk about a libel suit??? You had better have proof of that accusation before you decide to file this slander suit of which you speak. I have hundreds of people who can attest to my personality and lack of foul language usage.

Remember the old adage.....a pleased customer tells 1 other person...a displeased customer tells 100...

All I can say is... I learned a HUGE lesson in the ordeal.

I pulled her invoice today,sure enough there it was two service calls for a leak at the base,she was told that her toilet was not sitting on an flat floor there for it caused more wear and tear the normal. So, the plumber she had out ther told her that it needed to be replaced. She was trying to sell her house just wanted to have a quick fix so she could stick some-one else with the problem.He patched the leak. Two days later she calles with a back up. The plan she had purchessed with dominion power only allowed us to work out side the home or we were told by dominion to walk away.We did all that we could . The plumber there told her that he could come out on his own personal time to install the clean out for her.Oh,by the way to our Norther friends Ny,Pa,etc... ther are no basements or well very few in Va.So, there are the two differen't prices she was squocking about.Bottom line she wanted to see this house !!! and not do the responsable thing and properly prepare to sell.She told ME that she just wanted to hurry and sell and get out before anything else happens.WoW !!! She sure is lost !Her daughter was sick,and that was her cheese for the wine. I would be happy to go toe to toe.She is WRONG!!!! I am the proof.I hate more than any thing people who are always trying to get over on other people. I am sure she sold her home and stuck some poor soul with her stupidty.

I an fully aware of this persons complaint , as always there are two sides, dominiond does not cover to have clean outs installed. the price quoted to her was for the clean out and the clogged drain. Then she wanted a quote on just the clean out so the different prices were for two seperate situations as she said she was tight on money and evey one wants some thing for nothing. Every thing was done to try to help her.So, when she later called another plumber their prices were different. We were the bad guys because she didden't shop first. The flange was just hangin on before we got there and needed to be replaced anyway.She was rude to me and foul langue diden't work , it was me personally who delt with her she is lying on this Company. I will follow up to see about slander charges.
MCCOY PLUMBING IS A RELIABLE AND FAIR.

There should be a cleanout trap in your basement near the foundation wall. Dominion will clean 'from the foundation' and this location would have certainly qualified. Many older homes did not have a cleanout trap in the yard. I'd file a formal complaint with Dominion and have them send a company rep out to investigate.
