McMenamins Crystal Ballroom Crystal Ballroom ; Portland,OR refused entry to a concert show for having a beer 6 hours before the show started 1 block away portland Oregon

 This past March 2013 I was homeless and wanted to see the Dark Star Orchestra at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland,OR.  I raised the money for the 2 tickets(52.00 total) by collecting cans and raking lawns.  The day of the show, I set up my tye dye stand exactly 1 block south of the Ballroom in front of a completly different building.  This was at 12pm in the afternoon.  I made some sales and enjoyed some fine microbrews in a concealed cup.  Exactly at 3:30. pm a staff member  from the Ballroom said I cannot have my stand on the street.  I could not understand why, I was in front of a different building on the opposit side of he facility.  Without argument I cleaned everything up and decided to have lunch and some beverages inside the Ballrooms restaurant for happy hour.  I spent and additional 40.00 inside on food and drinks.  While inside the facility  my back pack sprungs a leak.  Apparrently my shears got shuved down and punctured a beverage inside my back pack and their floor got wet. I apologized and moved my back and myself outside after paying my bill..  I waited in a long line for two 1/2 hours with all my friends. When I got to the frontdoor they said no back packs allowed = there was never a sign displayed nor did it say it on the back of tickets.  So I went and hid my back pack in some bushes and got back in line.  I waited another 45 minutes and all their staff could see me in  line waiting with the 300 of my friends which I had buy tickets so we can all see the show together.  This time I come  to the front door for a second time they tell me they cannot let me in the manager said so, I asked why, he said because I was having a beer up the  road 6 hours ago, in front of a different business on the opposite side of the street . I said that was ridiculous, I spent hard money to see the show and was not intoxicated by any means..I asked if they had made a mistake and they told me I could come back the next night.  I was insulted and humiliated in front of all my friends who were behind me in line.  Overall, I was in line a second time and they new the whole time they were not going to let me in.  Why couldn't a staff member notify me of this the second time they saw me in line, instead the staff wanted to emabarss me in front of friends and a whole crowd.  I recommend no one to go to the Crystal Ballroom in Portland OR. 1) their tickets say they have the right to refuse anyone, at anytime, for any reason, printed right on the back of their tickets. but it does not say no back packs allowed nor was it posted the day of the show. 2) they have a bully staff and management who take their positions way out of control. 3) If they don't like you they throw in this phrase" its an Oregon Liquor Control Commission  thing we have to follow it"= 4)who wants to buy a concert ticket knowing they don't have to let you in.   Basically, I want my money back and McMennamins should be ashamed of themselves and re-eavaluate their managers, security, and what is ethical.  First time in 35 years of conerts did this ever happen.. By the way the rst of McMennamins is very good especially their Edgfield faciltiy but do not go their Crystal Ballroom..Thank You and use caution and read the back of your t ickets for your protection ..I am still homless but  I sure wish an attorney can help me  get my money back just for the tickets; I did enjoy their food and beer specials.
