I was told upon enrollment that all money initially invested was refundable. Yet when I called Melalueca the other day I was informed that the pre-paid certificate that I was forced to purchase by my enroller was non-refundable for cash, but that I could still purchase products at the Perferred Customer Price. Well, I am not interested in buying the products.

I was told, by my enroller that she had to place the first order for me and that I could not purchase any products. So now I'm really confused. First I was told my money was refundable, then I was told I could not place my first order, and now I'm told that I can only use the certificate to order products. So does this mean I just gave away 50.00 dollars and I don't get anything.

I've read some of the other complaints listed here, and I'm grateful that I gave them a prepaid credit card number. At least I'm only tossing 50 bucks away instead of more. Just from what I've read makes a ton of sense. I wish I would have found this before I enrolled, and I feel sorry for those that keep the Melalueca company in business, but that's just my opinion.

It sounds to me that you have been enrolled by someone who does not understand very much about melaleuca. Here's why:

All money paid to start melaleuca IS refundable. It states that in your customer agreement form. To cancel you have to send a letter with your original signature to them, as well as all products you purchased, and the business kit. You do have a time period for this. 60 days for the products, 120 days for the business kit.

I do not understand how or why your enroller told you that you cannot place your first order. I placed my first order minutes after completing my online enrollment, and received it 4 days later. I am sorry that you have dealt with someone who is not practicing good business conduct. Instead of working one on one with you to help you understand the products so you can place your first order, he/she just had them send you a back up order. You, as the customer, have ALL rights to decide what you want to purchase (or not, in your case).

However, if you do not place your order by the end of the month, they will send you a back up order (and charge you for it), or a certificate that you can later redeem for products. Therefore, that certificate is not refundable, but the products you buy with it ARE. They will refund it, even if you send them an empty bottle.

My advice to you is:

Redeem your $50.00 back up order certificate - heck, you paid for it, you might as well. When the products arrive, you can either try them, and see if you actually like them (you have 60 days to review), or you can just return it immediately, without trying them. Please be sure to send the business kit if you received one, as well as a written letter of cancellation. I spoke with someone from the customer service line myself to verify what I have just told you was true. Once again, I apologize for your bad experience, but this should help you.
