I placed an ad on several horse classifieds looking to sell/trade a young paint for a well broke horse for a beginning rider for my daughter. I was contacted by Melissa who said she had a well-broke sorrell/white 10 year old mare she would be willing to trade. It had been ridden by her young children.

We set up a date/time to look at the horse. Her boyfriend rode the horse first and then my daughter got on her. She seemed fine and very calm and quiet.

We made the trade and she even trailered the horse for us because she said she was a 501c3 horse rescue and wanted to know where the horse would be. Seemed reasonable enough. This was done on a Saturday.

My daughter rode the horse Sat., Sun., and Monday and then she started limping. My daughter rode her 1/2 hour tops each time. By Tuesday I had to call in the ferrier(she had thrush but we had no idea the extent of it at the time) who suggested I call in the vet.In emails before the trade she told me the horse had no hoof problems other than thrush-she was very healthy.

The vet put her on SMZ's,Bute as well as told us to pick her feet daily, apply Thrush Buster daily and no riding or turnout for a week. In the mean time,my daughter groomed her and did all the work needed to her feet.

After a week, we contacted the vet and said she seemed better so he said she could ride once per day for no more than 15 min. As soon as my daughter went to get on her, she(the horse) threw herself to the ground. She did this to her twice. She also did this to my husband.

I called Melissa and told her she needed to come and look at this horse as it was crazy and something was wrong with it. She came out the next day(Sun) and her boyfriend Dean got on her and she did the same thing to them over and over and over for approximately 45 min. before they left her alone.

She sells/trades horses she does not have the proper vet papers for(I never did get mine) as well as says she has these horses longer than she actually does. She was not even a legitimate rescue at the time. She has kept my horse which was supposed to be her personal horse and has since sold him as well as resold the mare as a great 4-H project suitable for kids.

She is definitely a RIP-OFF!!

Japser and MY tragic Barn Fire

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, January 17, 2010

After all this stuff has hit the air about Melissa Giambrone. I must say I have been "hearing over and over" about MY Barn Fire. First Folks, can we get the facts straight. This Fire is still left "Undetermined" in other words, no one can prove who set it or how it burnt to the ground. ( anyone with any info Det. Firster would be more then happy to listen) I lost NINE Family members, not animals.... I waited 41 years for this dream and watched it go up in Smoke. Do you think your comments do not hurt me to the core, have you ever lived through such a tragedy ? To have your family in a burning building and not be able to save them.  As for "Jasper" The covered horse......  First off all I met Melissa maybe a month before this, I purchased a German Shepard from her "What I thought rescue" for One Hundred and Seventy Five dollars. My Husband and I then started to build My dream Barn. Melissa came to me and explained she "rescued" animals and what type of horse was I looking for I told her a paint. A week later I went there and met Jasper ( Buck) a Stunning paint she claimed was a rescue. I paid Melissa Giambrone and Dean Fazio whom I thought were a rescue EIGHT Hundred dollars for this horse, thinking he was a RESCUE. My funds I thought were going to the good of a rescue.  At this time Jasper came home...... People it was Winter, I Blanketed him, not covered him......he was in my pasture in the front yard for the whole world to see. There was nothing to hide.....  A month later after I had my "dream horse" Melissa came to me with some sob story saying a deal went bad and she had to meet Debbie at Braceville Police Department and pay her FOUR Hundred dollars for this horse, something about a trade that went bad. She explained to me all she had to do was pay Debbie 400 and it was over, but she did not have enough money. I don't know about the rest of you, but I had already had fallen in love with this horse and to pay 200 more and meet the old owner at the police dept seemed like something I was willing to do, So I did. Yes at this point I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Time went on...Stories unfolded and trust me folks, I too was scammed by her more times then I can count. I just thank God myself and others were HONEST and not afraid to speak up for those animals. I will be forever grateful to Det. Firster and Happy Trails for rescuing those animals. Bottom Line is this, to you "The fire" was a story to me it was the worst tragedy I have ever lived through. Please before we all "post" about it like it was no big deal, think of the animals that suffered in that fire and my heart that broke.

Deb.....U and I have talked since. You are a lovely lady. Thank You for hearing my side of the story and telling me yours. Please know without a doubt Jasper (Buck) was loved so very much when he was in my care. We both were victims here. Lets Just hope Justice prevails.

Jennifer

Stolen horse dies in barn fire.

AUTHOR: Pamela - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 16, 2009

The horse in this report was bought by a neighbor and friend of Melissa Giambrone. Jen and her lawyer husband knew the horse was involved in a unsavory transaction but they didn't care. They just made sure the horse was always well covered when let out. He died in a barn fire this past April. It was a electrical box started fire. 8 animlas were lost in total. Sorry I did not know Melissa Giambrone/Fazio was such a low unscrupolus person. She uses her Rescue as a tax write off and a excuse to get free animals and sell them for profit. She has also starved several dogs becasue they had heartworm and she didn't want the vert cost. From what I have seen and suspected of this person she probably tranked the horse you bought. She loved giving shots to horses. She would also blister them for no apparent reason. She is truely a sick individual.
