I, too, have been fruadulently deceived by Membership Plus -
I have had $21.95 deducted from my checking account since Nov 2005. I called there customer service number listed on my bank statement and was given a confirmation no. of cancellation of my membership to what is apparently an emergency roadside service. I apparently was automatically signed up for while applying for a payday loan, this occured without my knowledge or consent via clicking on a link associated with the Payday Loan site I was applying for.

The customer service representative stated I was going to be credited $21.95, for 1 month only within 5 to 10 days from today. I contacted them again and asked to speak to a manager, although, the c/s rep, Natalie, stated she was the only one there and that there were no managers. I asked for a number to reach the managers of the business and she repeated that there are no managers to speak to. I asked for their website and was unable to pull up any information for membership plus. I called them asking for membership information and where do I go to sign up for services and I was given the run around, and no other information other than the same website for membership plus.

The customer service representative explained they were experiencing trouble with the website and he wanted to get my contact number to call me back with more information. He placed me on hold 4 times scrambling for additional information! I called again to get my account no. and date of service and the c/s rep said they did not have that information since they were only the cancellation department. I got absolutely nowhere with these people, but a promise of a manager calling me as soon as possible.

I never received any correspondence regarding my services via e-mail nor in the mail, leaving completely unaware that I had this emergency roadside service.
My bank will have me fill out the appropriate forms, don't know if I will see any of my 7 months of money loss, but please be aware that this is a deceitful business practice to click on a link that automatically signs you up without your knowledge.

I am absolutely shocked!! I received a refund (for 1 month only), this is probably due to the fact that I called them 10 times or so demanding answers!!! I mentioned I was seeking legal assistance, I mentioned the calls were being recorded for legal reasons, I brought up fraud and the next thing I knew I received a credit of $21.95 in less than the 5-10 days they said it would take.
My bank did not refund any of my money. I filled out the forms for fraud so Membership Plus cannot withdraw that amount again...although, I understand they can change the amount by 1 cent and it will go through...this thought bothered me so much that I was forced to close down my bank account and open up another one, boy the trouble that was! I am contacting a the FBI now to see if they can help stop these maniacs!
