So, once again some degreed lunkheads must have gotten together in a big conference room and tried to figure out how to screw over the multitudes of customers loyal they already have.

Opened up the bill today and nearly soiled my shorts. Instantly my thoughts turned to the wife leaving lights on but the 400% markup seemed to be more inline with her starting her own neighborhood power supply system. So before I took a walk around the house to try to figure out where she buried all of the new extension cords from our house to all of the rest of our little village, I figured I'd give my old "freinds" at Met Ed a call.

Now... I have gotten used to being considered a dangerous "investment" from these people for the past year or so. The new constant insistance that my power was going to be shut off at any moment because my regular payments over the phone every month just didn't seem to be satisfying them as much as it used to 8 years ago when I started with the at my new residence.

After the call to the regular customer service rep was crankily redirected to someone in their "credit department" (I wonder if I'd get travel points using my new Met Ed credit card?...) I was finally informed by an actual honest representative that my last month's payment was applied fully to my new "security deposit" account and none of the funds were actually applied to the bill itself, hence the monster bill I had just recieved. After pressing the customer service rep a little more she stated that I would have to pay my full bill next month to be able to have the ability to argue those new "system". Wow!... wait.... WHAT? No, no, no. When I went full press I got a more appropriate response. I only have to settle up on my usage to get those previous fund applied to my usage as opposed to this new "security deposit".

So... I'll be following up next month for you all but I just wanted to get this out for all of you so you can all see how these big companies are starting to work, and I feel if you don't know this stuff already and fight it tooth and nail every chance you get... YOU ARE THE REASON IT IS HAPPENING! I will not pay a security deposit for a monthly product! If you think it's that financially dangerous for you to send a product to my house via infrastucture that you don't even own, then don't... I'll easily find someone who will!

Consumers of the world are now fully viewed as the new natural resource playground for the greedy. DO NOT let them screw you over, fight for your rights! I mean, I'm sure we all feel so sorry for all of these big billion dollar companies that they have to go out there risking themselves everyday to supply a product to people for a huge profit, and maybe 2 or 3% of these loathesome customers may not pay a bill on time here and there. This is all so some big corporate useless idiots can have a new slush fund of money to play with for their buddies on Wall Street. If only 10% of MetEd's current customers subscribe to this new security deposit scheme, they will have around an extra 15 million to drop into their greed fund!

Who knows... maybe they're trying to start a new SuperPAC?
