Metropolitan Educational Enterprises I was an E4 in the Army and a rep showed up to my door saying I will recieve a free gift if I talk to them. He told me about the encyclopedias, and books and children's books I will recieve, and told my boyfriend at the time that it would only cost 84.00 a month and that's it. He told us to sign the paperwork only so that I could get the free gift, after he left is when I saw it was a contract. Chicago Illinois

At the time it was in August of 2006, and my daughter was 6-months old. It wasn't until after he left that I saw it was a contract in the amount of 2300 so odd dollars. I called the 1800 number on the bottom of the contract, and told them I wanted to cancle the order, cause on the paper it said 14 days from the date to cancle. The operator told me it was too late that they had the order sent already and that I had to give them my account number and routing number.

I told them that the paper said I had 14 days to cancle, and she then told me it was a lie. When I talked to Mr. Nelson, it was about six months after I gotten out the military, and I was due anytime with my son, I had told him that I was not in the military anymore and that I could not work due to my pregnancy, he told me that I needed to find a job, and that being pregnant with my son was not an excuse to not work. If anyone can help me I really need it, they are making me send in payments out of my Assistance money and is threating to take me to court, when I told them I have no money, expect what the State is giving me.

I told them I have two kids to take care of by myself, and they gone tell me that I need to better take care of my finances and that I need to take out a loan or have my mom pay it for me. Mr. Nelson also got the number to my mom's job and have been harrassing her for the past two years about my payments, which were on time until after I left out of the military. I didn't know until today(5/4/09) that this company did the same to other people in the military. It is too late for me to contact JAG. I wished I had known about this company long ago, it could have saved me a bunch of headache.
