MG Credit and Baileys Powerhouse Gym I relocated and cancelled the membership but they are using MG Credit to try to make me pay. Internet

In 2006 I cancelled my membership with Baileys by going into the gym on Blanding Blvd and paying the $50 cancellation fee and also completing the draft cancellation form. I relocated to Columbus, Ga later that week and upon arrival called Bailey's corporate office to inform them of my new address and relocation. I also provided them with a copy of a bill that had been forwarded to my new address; per their instruction. However; they sent my account to MG Credit along with the new address stating that I did not have a right to cancel. I spoke with MG Credit and they stated that they were not sure why my account was sent over as the account clearly had the new address; which is over 200 miles away from Jacksonville. MG Credit also stated that Baileys is their biggest client so they could not dispute the issue. They asked me to call Baileys and told me that they would do whatever Baileys instructed them to do. I called Baileys and spoke with a manager who informed me that it was clear that I had relocated and had a contractual right to cancel but she again stated that she had to speak to Mr. Bailey. This has been going on for a couple of years now and management has changed at Baileys corporate office...I get a new person each time. Also; they are rude and one manager even stated to me that Mr. Bailey says that it is about the principal of the matter........totally unethical and predatory in practice. I have contacted an attorney who told me that Bailey's preys upon military people and others who are in frequent transition. He stated that most people pay Bailys as it is hard to resolve the issue so far away. I would not advise anyone to do busines with this company.
