Michaelson Group, LLC Colonnade at Regency Horrible Staff, Unsafe Apartments, Broken A/C, Dirty Community Jacksonville Florida

 I have been a tenant since late June and have had one of the worst and most unprofessional experiences to date and found it inhabitable.

Before moving in, during a tour of our apartment I mentioned the temperature difference in my designated bedroom, and the agent blew off the comment and said it was because the thermostat wasn’t on because of the vacancy. That should have been my first warning. Four months later I’ve slept in a bedroom that is constantly anywhere in between 81-85 degrees. Regardless of the time of day, the bedroom is unlivable and incredibly hot. After weeks of informing the Leasing Office, they hired a contractor to examine the room, and said that there was no reason for it, and that there wasn’t anything they could do. The dishwasher doesn’t work, the air conditioning unit has to drain into our glass bowl, because maintenance never returned to repair what they started. So still to this day our unit leaks into a glass bowl, more then seven weeks later.

Numerous times I’ve offered for any of the staff in the office to come to my room and physically see how warm the room is and found no resolution. Then early September, the agent called and left a voicemail saying that the key to our apartment was misplaced and that we needed to drop off another key so they would have a copy. With the national crime in the Regency/Arlington area being over 101% the national average, it was incredibly unsettling to know that someone had our key and never returned it. Speaking of which, I have a video of a tenant on property dealing drugs in the courtyard of the complex.

I have watched countless people be arrested from my balcony, car, and all around the property during my entire stay here. The police visit at least 3-4 times weekly. The final straw was earlier this month, I was leaving for work around 7:30am. and was greeted by 4 Jacksonville Sheriffs’ Officers at the front gate of the property saying they were attempting to catch a resident. Then when I returned home from work there were another 5 cars at my building with 4 stolen handguns on the hood of 2 stolen cars. The entire building was in an uproar. As per usual, the front office pretends nothing happens and carries on with the daily run of things. The website advertises as controlled access, insinuating that it’s gated or something along those lines, but that’s false because the gates at the front of the property have been removed for years, and the back gate is padlocked so residents are unable to use that. You’ll see attached just a few photos of garbage left throughout the complex. The entire community leaves trash outside which has to possibility to bring cockroaches into the apartment. If you drive through the community you’ll see diapers, glass, boxes, spread around.

The agents at the front office are among some of the most unknowledgeable and unprofessional staff I’ve ever come across and do as little as necessary to get the job done. If you walk in 9/10 you’ll see them sitting on their phones, or obnoxiously talking about how much fun they had the night before. If those are the people chosen to be “the face of the company” then I guess that’s an entirely different issue. I had a debit card and two pieces of mail stolen from my mailbox after it was broken in to when I first moved here, and the front office claimed to put a work order in, but still to this day I have the exact same key from Day 1.

My roommate and I were forced to break our lease, because our apartment was incredibly hot, unsafe and under a staff that didn’t understand or how to manage issues throughout our lease because I shouldn’t be held responsible to pay an additional month’s rent when we had to leave for circumstances that were out of our control.
