MIDARA INC. is the Columbus branch of the exploit-marketing company, Cydcor. After an initial interview, they take you into 'the field' for a training day, where you work for six unpaid hours as they train you to sell a service such as AT&T products...where you must wear AT&T clothing,ect..
'The field' refers to a neighborhood. It is here that go DOOR-to-DOOR stating that you are doing a "customer service check". You stay in this same neighborhood (or one street) the entire day...knocking on the same doors consistently.
They took me to 'the field' in one of their cars, so I couldn't leave, even if I wanted to. They take you to lunch (fast food)...and explain to you the levels of their company.
Level 1: Entry level, door-to-door sales ...2-4 weeks. COMISSION only (might make $200-500 a week if lucky)
Level 2: Leader/trainer, nothing changes..still door-to-door, except know you take people out on their 2nd interviews in your car...for 6 hours. 2-8months COMISSION only (might make $200-500 a week if lucky)
Level 3: Ast. Manager, they "promote" you based on production/success...and when i asked what they are looking for..i never got a definitive answer... it is in this stage where you start to raise 15K in order to hopefully open up your own marketing company... 2-3months.
Level 4: Manager , own company, i was told you are an independent corp. and have the freedom to name your own company at this stage.
They do not have any benefits. You have to pay for your own gas, cell phone usage (as you use this to help setup new accounts for customers...ect..).
Midara INC., reminds me a lot like what we have in the south..known as Quixtar.
This was the most miserable 6 hours i ever spent on an interview. Please don't be fooled...there are many more of these out there..research, research, and do more research on a company before you fall into a trap like this.
They say it's not a pyramid scheme, because you don't make money off of the people below you. However, the only way to advance into the higher pay brackets is to get people below you, and then people below the people below you, etc.
A total waste of time.

First of all, I am sorry to see you have obviously had a bad experience with this company. However, you are talking in such way that you have no idea what you're really saying at all. The whole thing is a training course to help YOU succeed. If owning your own company is not for you, fine. Dont call out a perfectly legitimate company just because you could not succeed in that career field. Midara employees are living happy, comfortable lives and making a better living than most. Workers within this company have drive and ambition, they are leaders and dreamers. You should take a minute to really learn about the whole company..not just in Gahanna but all over the world.
They take these steps: "The Field" "Leader" "Assistant Manager" and finally "Manager" because that is the exact system everybody should follow. You dont go into a restaurant after never working in one starting out as a manager. Thats ridiculous. If you were to do so, you would not be as successful as the waitress who is working towards management.
There are steps to success in every company. Midara takes a slow apporach because they set up their employees to succeed, not fail. Everyone who comes out of this training program has more confidence and knowledge about what it really means to be a good leader. The system they use and the people they have are very effective and helpful.
As for the whole pyramid thing...In a pyramid the top person gets paid from all the others below him/her. Through all companies branching off from Cydcor, nobody is paying anybody out of their own pay check. Yeah, the manager gets paid more. DUH! Thats the way it goes everywhere....The owner/manger is successful, they get paid. It doesnt take a genius to figure that one out.
