MIDAS MUFFLER CHARGED ME $800 FOR A STATE INSPECTION REPLACE AT BRAKE THAT DID NOT NEED IT. Midasbala Cynwyd Pennsylvania

IT SQUEAKED AND GRINDED UNITLL I HAD IT REPLACED THE NEXT TRIP TO A MECHANIC . THEY TOOK MY TEPERATURE SENSOR OFF AND OVERHEATED THE ENGINE. BLEW THE HEAD GASKETS. WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR I SAW THE SMOKE BLOWING OUT OF THE TAIL. I ASKED THE MECHNIC TO FIX IT, HE PUT IT ON A LIFT, THEN SAID I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE.

i took my car for a simple state inpection. they said the emissions machine was not working and they would take it to aonther location. many hours later. they said i needed a lot of work. i told them to show me the old parts. when i picked up the car. started it it was smoking and running very rough. like it had no power. white smoke billowed out of the exhaust. and there was a big fresh cut in the dashboard from the steering wheel to where the inpection sticker was placed. I told the service person. he called the mechanic. he came out. looked at the car. he put it on the lift, came out 10 mins later, shrugged his shoulders and said 'you need a new engine" then he wrote down a friend who fixed engines. i lifted the hood and found the temperature sensor removed and a vaccum hose hanging off. i asked him is this what caused the problem. As soon as i put the hose back on it ran smoother. but it still ran extremely hot. i could see this guy was not going to admit this happened in his care. It would not have passed inspection if it was a preexisting problem. they obviously ran it from the other location without the sensor on. the car did not know to turn the fan on. i found in my paperwork that they did not even add the milege from one midas to the other. i had to get the car home. i had it pushed. so i could call the regional office. they claimed they don't handle that situation and would not give me the national number. when i call the office in chicago. they said it must be taken care of at the location where it happened. well you can see where that was going.

i called the better business bureau and the attorney general's office. they had not returned my calls untill i pressed. midas said i took too long to respond to the problem and that i could have happened in my care. they just wait you out. i had a dying mother i had to take care of so time to take care of them was limited. they got lucky. but there should be a major suit against them. now, after the fact, i've heard so much bad workmenship stories about them.

they must pay for that engine. they lied to the bbb and the ag's office and my paperwork was never looked at. a simple investigation would show that he wrote on a paper the number of his friend who does engines. it was done that day and the false miles on the inspection bill. can we get them?
