MidValley Dealers Mid-valley dealers Incomplete payment for equipment transport - refuses to settle balance Brownsville Texas

This company contracted with us to move a Cat 416e loader/backhoe piece of equipment from Jackson TN to San Antonio TX.

Everything went fine with the transport, it was picked up on time and delivered on time. The total amount for the move was 1300.00, the client went to the bank and deposited 1000.00 into our account before delivery. This seemed a little odd (why not deposit all of it at once?) but ok no problem he said he would wire the rest direct from his Wells Fargo account when he got back to the office. No money showed up for days and when contacted he finally said "oh I mailed a check already" so now instead of a full deposit or wiring the balance he decided to mail a check?

Ok still no problem.

Weeks go by and no check arrives at our office. We have called him dozens of times with him only answering the phone if we call from a number he doesn't recognize (avoids other numbers he knows are ours) . Emails go unanswered and no payment has been received. 

We did a good job for this "dealer" and this seems rather extreme to get out of paying 300.00 . Maybe business is slow there on the border? 

Do not trust this company to pay you! Get your money upfront if you are going to do business with them (actually I think it is a 1 man operation). Or even better do not do business with them at all.
