I ordered two Dexter T300 washers from Midwest Laundries from James Shultz. He told me they were fully reconditioned in excellent condition and even sent me pictures of them. Six weeks later I received 2 T300s, they were poorly crated and damaged. Both front panels, one rear panel, 2 side panels and 1 lid was damaged. I immediatly called James Shultz at Midwest Laundries to inform him of the damaged, he said he would call his shipper and handle it. That was the time I spoke with him. I tried calling again at least 6 times and he never returned any of my calls. I then had the machine inspected by a local laundry vendor and they informed me that one machine had bad motor barrings and that there was $1800.00 worth of damage. I then contacted the shipper myself and he said I would have to go through Midwest Laundries since he was the person who shipped them out. I never got my money back, no money towards fixing the machine. James Shultz with Midwest laundries left me high and dry. BEWARE!!!!!! Jim Shultz will not follow through and protect his customers. He has bad buisness ethics.

Rebuttal to Mr. Maier's Claims from Midwest Laundries

AUTHOR: Midwest Laundries - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 21, 2014

We regret that Mr. Maier, a repeat client of Midwest Laundries, had trouble with this order and shipment. All shipments from Midwest Laundries are sent via a common freight carrier and are fully insured (through the carrier) to their purchase price. The freight carrier is liable for any damage that occurs in transit. Each customer is made aware that they MUST inspect their delivery upon arrival and make note of any damage on the delivery paperwork before signing/accepting.  We emphasize this critical step to our clients throughout the purchasing process and as a final reminder every unit is shipped with a large decal on the front that reads, "INSPECT FOR DAMAGE BEFORE ACCEPTING.”  The problem arose when Mr. Maier had someone else accept his shipment on his behalf and that person failed to inspect the machines or note any damage on the delivery paperwork. Once the machines were signed for and accepted the situation was out of our hands.  Mr. Maier’s representative did not follow proper procedure to make the damage known to either the freight carrier or Midwest Laundries at the time of delivery.

Mr. Maier then proceeded to file a chargeback complaint with his credit card company.  Midwest Laundries provided evidence of the situation and the merchant and credit card company quickly ruled in our favor.   Again, we sincerely regret that a customer had this issue, but in no way do we feel that any actions of our company or personnel constituted poor customer service and certainly not poor ethics.

We have prepped, wrapped, and strapped our products the same way for over 8 years, and in this time have seen less than 1% of our freight arrive to customers with any damage whatsoever.  Unfortunately, damage does sometimes occur when shipping heavy equipment.  Mr. Maier has previously purchased over 15 machines spanning the last 3 years and all machines were properly wrapped and arrived without incident.

Midwest Laundries stands behind the quality of the machines sent to customers and rebuilt machines are sold with 90 days parts warranties and 1 year bearing warranties. A damaged machine is not an accurate representation of the quality of our products.

Mr. Maier, you have not had multiple calls go unanswered. If you would like to speak with anyone at Midwest Laundries directly please call us at 773-538-7892.
