I'm currently looking for a job and have been using craigslist to find one. I recently received this e-mail from a company I applied to.

---------------------------------

Thanks for expressing your interest in our position.  We'd love for you to come in for an interview.

We're going to need a couple items from you before and during the interview.  Since we have an abundance of personal and sensitive information lying around, we're required to conduct a credit and background check before we hire.

While the background check will be done DURING the interview, the credit report (doesn't affect your score) can be done now.

Click here to be redirected to the free credit report.  Again, it won't harm your score, and you will NEVER be asked to reveal personal information over email.

Instead, you send us the verification number you receive, so we can set you up for an interview.  Then, just bring the report with you when you come in.  We need the verification number to schedule you.

Let us know if you have any questions!

I understand a background check is necessary, but not a credit check. The link they provided takes you to a commercial credit check service that doesn't seem to be legit. I looked up Miller Fine Prints and there is no such company in the Chicago area. There website conveniently says "changing locations". This is obviously a phishing scam.
