The newest structural engineering firm that has major issues is Miyamoto International. They are so bad they are willing not to hire employees who save their clients at least $100 million or more. It's the equivalent of throwing a $100
million bill on the ground. It's quite laughable to millions of Americans.
As part of their interview process, they, as in the tag team of Christopher Haight and Josh Grebelein, will make you describe what needs to be done to an existing building and what you need to do to bring it up to code. This would seem like a fair part of the interview process for a structural engineering firm that is as prestigious as Miyamoto International. Unfortunately, this is not fair when the people giving the part of the interview are complete idiots in the subject matter. There's some major problems with this portion of the interview that would make recent college graduates of engineering laugh out loud. Based on these encounters, it makes applicants question whether the firm really knows how to design earthquake safe structures.
For example, you will not get a chance to look through all the drawings in order to make wise and sensible decisions such as what the lateral and gravity systems of the building are. Normally, this is the ideal situation for a structural
engineer, but not so if you happen to work for Miyamoto International. You won't even get a chance to write anything down or even take notes. Based on encounters described so far, this is the recipe for a disaster.
Mr. Haight doesn't even have a Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Neither does Mr. Grebelein. That's what their LinkedIn profiles state, anyway. If they had, they would have discovered all sorts of problems:
irregularities such as rectangular diaphragms with three sides of lateral support, a very bad idea.
opening in the middle of the building, another seismic irregularity
weak story & soft story irregularities such as going from one to two bays of bracing
mass irregularites going from a steel deck roof to a concrete floor
Apparently, these two structural stupidists are so bad millions of engineers and even some stand-up comedians cannot believe they are heads of this most noteworthy firm. It's definite proof h*o Fat Nitwit Kit Miyamoto will acquire firms run by actual idiots who prefer to waste their clients money.
Their marketing person is an alleged marketing idiot named Suria Lee. She's got lots to be desired, folks. She comes into interviews just to ask about your past contacts. In our opinion, this is her sick and twisted way to get more business for Miyamoto International without actually hiring you at all. This is sick and twisted because Sharia Lee cannot come up with an original idea herself based on the documented encounters we have in our possession. Men, if you want to avoid dating someone, Suria Lee would be it. I mean, how many men would date someone who refuses to allow potential employees to save her firm $120 million?
When she says she has clients that are willing to pay top dollar, what she really means top dollar to pay her buddy h*o Fat Nitwit Kit Miyamoto. Now if Kit can discuss this in a calm matter with the engineer he refused to hire, then our impression of him will be based only on a chance encounter of Haight-Grebelein-Lee. Instead, based on the actions of Haight-Grebelein-Lee, we have to assume this is not true as monetary savings is too adult a puzzle for them.
Folks, if you have much better education and better experience than these two member engineering team called Haight-Grebelein, then you will not get the job. That's because they want to feel superior by making you feel inferior. We believe the reason they don't hire employees who know what they are doing is because they value the bottom line by having the salary expense as low as possible.
In fact, it makes people wonder why they never checked out references that were provided. Instead, the Haight-Grebelein clan preferred to believe the words of non-seismic enigneers rather than seismic engineers familiar with the applicant's California work. Makes people wonder if Haight-Grebelein would allow a child molester to babysit their child(ren), if they had any.
What's even worse is that h*o Fat Nitwit Kit Miyamoto is willing to throw out millions of dollars in savings to his clients just to be a publicity w***e. Would h*o Fat Nitwit Kit Miyamoto be afraid someone will upstage him? Of course! The same potentially applies to other employees in his other offices.
When a potential employee presents a way clients can save them money, Miyamoto International dismisses that employee for such stupid reasons like being out of work more than 6 months due to circumstances that are beyond the employees' control, they are turned down. Studies have shown that engineers do not lose their knowledge and are just as good, but Miyamoto International is just ignorant of those facts. Miyamoto International never even checked the positive references of the former supervisor (s)he did the seismic work for or the plan review agencies that reviewed it.
This clearly shows people how bad they are at seismic design if they cannot do the simple research of a potential employee, what makes you think they can do the research in retrofitting a existing building or creating an existing structure. Does he not want happy clients? No, he just wants the money now instead of over the long term. Based on this assumption, we expect his firm not to survive in the long term, which we view as 10 to 20 years!
At Miyamoto International, they didn't create job discrimination against the long-term unemployed, they just perpetrate it! At Miyamoto International, they didn't invent blacklisting, they just perpetrate it from former unethical employers
without looking at the evidence at had. h*o Fat Nitwit Kit Miyamoto is too busy creating more stay-at-home parents. Is this making the world a better place? We think not! We cannot wait to share this with all the media people who do interviews with him and the world organizations who help people when they have a disaster like those in Christchurch and Haiti. Won't they be surprised?
What h*o Fat Nitwit Kit Miyamoto of Miyamoto International has done is cause California legislatures to pass laws banning discrimination against the long-term unemployed. The author of this law is Michael Allen, a California assemblyman. His office loved the idea of publicizing companies that discriminate against the long-term unemployed. Miyamoto International can now being added to this nationwide list. h*o Fat will now have to realize that his profession is the reason negative laws are getting passed instead of positive job creating laws like getting more money to fix California's schools and hospitals.
Based on our encounters, people should not do business with Miyamoto International until they are willing to apologize to the employees they wrongfully made to feel inferior and worthless. After all, leadership matters until no one is looking at them!
For Miyamoto International, an exemplary leader is someone who helps others achieve their personal best by finding common ground between group and individual goals. They believe that a group performs best when its goals bring out the best from each member. Their staff members primary responsibility is to serve their clients. Their leaders serve the staff and make everyones job easier. Each leader positions staff members to maximize their strengths. They give their staff the freedom to do their best work and enhance their process as a collaborative organization.
Unfortunately, this is all talk and no action. After all, Miyamoto International doesn't hire engineers who save them $120 million to their clients, so how can their strengths be maximized? If that person is not working for Miyamotio International, this will not happen because the firm may be stuck in the status quo. Instead, they are wasting tax breaks because they refuse to hire the long-term unemployed.
Yes, folks, here are the upper management people who allow these idiots called Haight & Grebelein to run amok!
