No you are not obligated to Bruce Goodwin because you signed a contract with him.
1. A juvenile cannot enter in to an agreement with any Record Label. Goodwin and Butler know this, your contract was null and void even before the ink dried. A parent or legal guardian has to provide the signature.

2. When he did not live up to the contract, it was a "Breach Of Contract", you can sue him.
I would sue him on the pretense , ignorance is no excuse for the law, I have met this man he's just another EX- Nashville "producer".
But anyone can be their own producer, even though I advise heavily against it. Get in touch with the RIAA and finsd a REAL producer.

Now if you sell CD's you will have to pay royalties of around $90.00 per thousand CD's pressed to the author/songwriter

My parents also paid out $1500 for me to record in Nashville, recieve 50 tapes and 25 CD's. I got the 50 tapes but I never got the 25 CD's. It's been a very long time now since 97/98 so I'm not waiting to recieve them any day now. I just wondered if I was to make a new cd or preform for money is Bruce Goodwin entitled to any of it. I just wondered if I would still be considered under contract with him. When I got my record deal I was 14, I recorded in Nashville when I was 16. So since I was a minor at the time would it really have been a ligit contract? Does anyone have a clue??? Please post some info below to help myself and other victims..

Hello. I can speak from experience on this one! I "won" one of Mr.Goodwins talent contests in Merrillville, IN many years ago. I sold the tickets and had my friends and family there to cheer me on. Ever heard of the saying..."if it's too good to be true, then it probably is." That sums it up in a nutshell! After "winning" the contest, my parents had to pay out over $1500.00
to even be taken seriously! Then months and months and months later, I was promised a lot of things that have never happened. I was promised 50 tapes and 25 CD's when "my" albumn was completed. My mother and I traveled to Nashville, at her expense, to "record" my albumn in a run-down old school building with boards on the windows and doors. I did actually sing and recorded what I had practiced. It took over 2 years to get 25 tapes that were not professional looking and had many spelling errors in the acknowledgements. It was an experience and I learned a very expensive a valuable lesson.

I am presently working with MMT music group and Bruce Goodwin personally. It is a good company that works with individuals or groups to help promote their talent and get them started. They are invited to go to various talent shows or showcases. The people that they are interested in do get a letter or a card or a call. I went through a showcase and that is how they found me. They are a good company so those that have been unfortunate enough to be cheated by others I am truely sorry, but those that are researching this company to work with I do urge you to work with them.

my band got an offer from mmt music through song bird promotions they must not have like roberts band. they gave us a card and number to call. since then we have sent demos,and now are on our way. its not a rip off although some people may feel that it is. thank you. look for "KONTAGIOUS" coming soon!!!!!!
