I requested a $500 loan because I could pay it off relatively fast. I was approved for $1000 and declined, stating that $500 was all I needed. $500 was deposited into my account. A little over a week later, I noticed that an additional $500 had also been deposited into my account as well, $60 of which I had spent before I realized what had happened. My Mobiloans statement reflected that I was being charged repayment fees on a $1000 loan.

I called Mobiloans but it was after hours so I sent an email. Received a response 24 hours later stating that I needed to call. When I did call, I was told that they couldn't help me because it had been over 48 hours since I filed the complaint. Their original email did not state this policy or I would have called them back within that time frame. Supervisor Jamal, who was a total jerk, was almost yelling at me, asking why I waited more than 48 hours to call and I was yelling at him, telling him it was none of his business why I waited and I wouldn't have waited if I had been informed of their policy. I talked to customer reps and supervisors, all more rude than the next. No one could tell me why the additional money had been deposited into my account. I did not request the additional money but I was told repeatedly that I must have. I was told repeatedly that they could have reversed the fees on the loan for $1000 if I had called within 48 hours. But since I'm not psychic and didn't just know this fact, I was basically out of luck. I also was never told, in writing or in person, that my payments were scheduled for every two weeks. I told them that I had never had a loan of any kind in my 56 years of life that required payment more than once a month.  Again, I was told, tough luck with that.

Even though I paid almost all of the additional $500 back that they mistakenly deposited into my account, they still refused to drop the fees for the $1000 loan that I never asked for. They also lied about being able to pay more than the minimum required payment. I was told that I could do it simply and easily on line but nothing was further from the truth. I have reported them to the Louisiana Attorney General' office and to the BBB. I strongly suggest that others do the same. They are total bait and switch scam artists and shouldn't be allowed to get away with ripping people off.
