I have recently purchased a home.  Prior to close a roof repair was made.  The sellers insurance covered the replacement because of hail damage.  Monarch Roofing Systems LLC 2125 S 48th St, Suite 107, Tempe, AZ 85282 (602) 426-0315 ROC#266271 ROC#253807 was chosen to do the work because of their preferred provider status with the insurance company.
A conversation with the project manager, Jonathan, took place before the work was executed.  He informed us that to do the repair up to code standards that the sheathing had to also be replaced and that a request was made to the insurance company.
After completion of the roof and close of the home sale I discovered that the sheathing was not replaced.  I contacted Monarch Roofing and again spoke with Jonathan.  I informed him that 1) the sheathing was not replaced 2) that the existing sheathing was further damaged and 3) that a single piece that was replaced was cut too small and left an exposed gap.   He informed me that the insurance denied replacement of the sheathing and the sellers signed some sort of document.  I requested a copy or explanation of such document.  I also asked him to repair the damaged caused by his work crew and document the condition of the roof so that I could be assured that the five years no leak warranty would be upheld.  His response was that I could do nothing about any of it because there was no code for the city of Scottsdale.
I continued to call the company for a week afterward.  Eventually I was informed that Bill Ring, the quality control officer, would be contacting me for an inspection.  Bill did contact me in a timely manner and came to inspect the work.  He verified that the single repair made was done incorrectly (cut too short leaving an exposed gap) and that they should be out to fix it.  He also stated that the five years no leak warranty would be in place and upheld.  I again requested a copy or explanation of the document signed by the sellers.  He said that the owner would need to produce this document.
The next week I was contacted by the owner of the company.  He said they were not going to do anything.  I stated that his companies quality control officer admitted that at least one area should be repaired.  He said he would talk with him and hung up on me.
I waited a week for him to respond and started to file official complaints.

100% satisfied with Monarch

AUTHOR: Jack from Mesa - (United States of America)

I had Monarch Roofing Systems replace my roof and I could not be more pleased.  I found David the owner to be very honest and sincere.  He gave me a date and the roof was started as promised.  Each step was explained and done as promised.  I would recommend Monarch Roofing System to my best friend.

False Accusations about Monarch Roofing Systems

AUTHOR: monarchroofing - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, July 26, 2012

Thank you for your interest in Monarch Roofing Systems.  It is my intent to explain the situation previously discussed about the content found on the internet.

Monarch Roofing Systems has never had a contract with or performed any contractual work for the person posting all the negative comments online about our company.  We did have a contract with the previous homeowner who owned his home at the time the work was completed.  Matthew did not purchase the home until after the work had been completed.  City code requires the decking on a home to be a certain thickness.  The roof was originally replaced through the insurance company due to storm damage.  Insurance policies are supposed to pay to upgrade to comply to city codes however the homeowners policy had an exclusion and did not pay for code upgrades.  We received written consent from the City of Scottsdale to proceed with the original decking and the previous homeowner also signed a waiver stating to proceed and not replace the decking.  We proceeded as instructed and we reroofed the home.  The homeowner was pleased with the work and signed our Satisfaction of Work Completed form. The home was then sold to Matthew and for some reason he thought the home still needed to be redecked.  He also asked to see the paperwork from the previous homeowner and the City of Scottsdale in which we told him that it wasn't our place to give him as our contract was with the previous homeowner.  She would need to be the one to give consent to give him those papers.  Matthew believed he was entitled to new decking even though our contract was not with him and the work was signed off on and completed to the previous homeowners satisfaction before he came into the picture.  To help the situation, we actually performed repairs on his home as he requested even though we did not have to do so.  We came to an agreement that satisfied both parties.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause.  My word is my honor and I guarantee that Monarch Roofing Systems is an honest and reputable company.  I ensure you that your experience with us will be a pleasant one and we look forward in doing business with you.  Unfortunately, I cannot control what people post online as they have the freedom of speech and people can post whatever they want.  Legally, he did not have a leg to stand on.  The most important place to find a company's reputation is the Better Business Bureau and the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Monarch Roofing Systems has an A rating with the Better Business Bureau and we have never had any complaints with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.  I've have provided proof of both which can also be found online.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
