I bought this policy in march of 1994. It was from Good Sam health and life solutions. There was no particular agent as they solicited me. All was well for the last 15 years, but after I was diagnosed with some fairly serious medical problems about 5 years ago, I was contacted by them by phone and letter stating that they were having trouble keeping my product available and last week they said that the product was no longer available due to a state exclusion. They said that monumental life, who apparently took over from them was having trouble with my state. I have lived in Ga for the last 15 years and I contacted my Insurance commissioner in Ga, who had no idea what they were talking about. He said that maybe the state in which it was sold could help me and that is Fl. I was born and lived in Ft. Myers Fl up until about 15 years ago. It was not Florida and today an AiGA employee told me that it was in fact Ga who did cancel my policy. I was flat out told by good sam when they solicited me that I could never be cancelled other than fraud, nonpayment or when I reach 80 years old, as my policy states. None of those have happened period. I just cannot believe that they can do that to someone after they get ill. I bought this for my family's security up until I do reach 80 if I do. I have contacted the phone number that they gave me on several occasions and talked to supervisors, and all I was told is that it is my states fault and not theirs. They do not even know what state after I have asked. This has really put me in a serious situation due to my health.
Thank you,

I am truly sorry that you are dealing with the added stress of trying to plan for your family's financial future while you are ill.
It's "legal robbery" what the insurance companies are allowed to do to good, decent people who are just trying to take care of their families. I hope you are able to get a resolution to this problem.
#1 Consumer Suggestion
Hope you can either get it reinstated or a refund...

Shouldn't you file a formal complaint with your states insurance commissioner? That way, if the company violated the policy terms, you may be able to reinstate it. Good luck to you.
