Edward Mara (Ed) representing Tropical Pools/Mountain Service came to offer his services of installing fibro-optic pool and patios . We signed a contract in May 2006, but as of today I haven't seen him on the site since then
He took $8,000.00 as a deposit (out of $25,000.00 we agreed). He promised to do all permits, electrical contractor included and finish work by July 2006. But he never showed up. To every my call he had excuses like: "busy with sister who has cancer", "sick" etc. He made excuses and promises every time.
By the end of 2006 I insisted to return my deposit if he was not able to do the project, but he assured that his son Ed Junior, who was also his partner would do the job early spring, in March, so that by summer 2007 I'd have my pool done.
After many calls and messages his son Ed Junior responded but he insisted that I should do all permits. Finally by May 2, 2007 I got all permits, spending my own extra money, including engineering survey .
I called again to let him know that I have permit for him to start construction. Edward Mara Junior told that he had his wedding and would be away for 1 week on honeymoon. He promised to contact me. Never did. I called again, left many messages. He responded once telling me he had back pain. I understood that a new round of excuses started and left a message demanding my deposit back.
Edward Mara called me back trying to convince me that everything was ready on his end but I should get ready $15,000.00 when he comes with excavator.
I told him that I didn't trust him since he was keeping my deposit for more than year without doing anything. I agreed to pay when at least half of the job would be done.
Since then he disappeared. Most probably he wanted to get more of my money without any work done.
On the contract I have the following numbers for contractor: 800-688-4055,
570-629-6638. Also I have 570-236-3190 (Ed Junior).
The license # on the contract 22999982
These people should be brought to justice and punished.

Ed Mara is now doing business as Blue Water Fiberglass Pools, he is promising a quick install then he takes your money, perfomes a miniimal amount of work then disappears. Constantly comming up with excuses as to why he can not show up that day or that week, and can not get a project that takes a normal pool company two-three weeks several months before you figure out he is a scam artist stealing your money. Ed Mara does not have a contractors license, if he starts to do work for you, get a copy of his license, get his insurance, and a copy of drivers license. Get a performance bond as well, that is your only protection against him. He also happens to pick and choose who he performs his scam as I know a person who got his pool installed by Ed Mara, but he used a different person's license and probably did not want that person to come after him (and make his hands match - if you know what I mean). If there is any thing you can send me, we can work together to either recover our stolen money or even better get the state of NJ to charge him with grad theft or graft please contact me at (((ROR redacted))) Togther we can make sure this does not happen again.
By the way, this guy does shuch poor work, you would be better off losing your deposit than having him start the work, you will spend more money fixing his incompetence than your depsoit.
Ed Mara = Scam artist stay away.
