Move Right aka Self Move destroyed my furniture the dirty rip-off lying SOBs Santa Monica California

I hired this company to move my belongings from NY to AZ thinking that it was an affordable alternative to full service or do-it-yourself movers. I have never been so wrong. This company screwed up at every turn and they are still screwing up. I signed a contract for $2,520 which stated that Move Right would load, move, and unload my furniture in 10 to 14 days with $15,000 of "personal property protection." They even promised free packing materials and said they would shrink wrap my couch. Sound good? READ ON!

Move Right/ Self Move took my $600 deposit and never called back. I had to call them six times on my SCHEDULED moving day to beg them to come. Apparently they had forgotten. From 6pm to 9pm the motley crew of "movers" literally dragged my furniture out to the sidewalk and stuffed it into the wooden crates that they call storage containers.

Ten days later my family and I are in AZ and call Move Right to check on the status of our move. We are told that we can have our belongings in ANOTHER 20 DAYS. After several phone calls we persuade them to drop it off later that week.

The movers that unloaded our furniture were a couple of hacks who broke off our doorbell while trying to smash our leather sofa through the front door. I watched in disbelief as every piece of wooden or leather furniture that they brought in was scratched, gauged, chipped and mangled. The leather on the sofa and love seat was stained and actually rubbed off in places. There was a 17in scratch across the top off the oak dining table. The wood was chipped off of the edges of the coffee table, the baby crib, and rocking chair. The Murphy chair was so badly damaged that we can no longer sit in it. The damage goes on further but you get the idea.

After contacting the president of Move Right/Self Move (Ralph Hodges) I was told to send photos of the damage. I did so almost two months ago. Funny, Ralph hasn't gotten any better about communicating. He won't return any of my phone calls.

This company is run by a bunch of hacks. I'm not even sure if they are actually insured or they would take responsibility for the thousand of dollars in damage they caused. You can move yourself for the same amount of money and a lot less misery.
