MOVING & RELOCATION is a complete SCAM -- regardless how they quote you over the phone a low price, appear to be "friendly" or "accommodative", they WILL extort you for cash on the moving day. They've been doing this for at least the past 4 years. They're very experienced and renew their license periodically to avoid tractability. Their most recent US DOT# is 1916764. If you're a victim, please email (((email redacted))) to join a Class Action Suit at no cost to you.

Here is how the scam works. First and foremost, the lady on the phone has 3 names - when quoting a price, she's Caitlin or Natalia; During and after the scam her name becomes Veronica and will claim Caitlin and Natalia are no longer available and put you on hold or direct you to an empty line. And on the moving day she'll just direct the call to the foreman. They may change names in the future, but the entire company is rigged.

Second, they market with a name that is so ubiquitous and hard to search for background review on Internet, unless you type in the exact company address (South Newman Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601). Third, when you ask for a quote on the phone, they'll tell you there is no hidden charge whatsoever except for the hourly rate. Fourth, they'll NOT put anything in writing except a generic quote in email. And when you ask, they'll just say that their "system" has all your info. They would also appear to be extremely flexible if you want to change your date, ride on their truck, etc. You can do "anything" as long as they trap you into the business.

Fifth, the day of moving, they (usually a white guy who speaks English and will eventually insult you directly and two Spanish guys who pretend they're slave labors) will first load a bunch of stuff to the truck, then ask you to sign various forms including a) an unfilled final bill stating only the hourly rate b) an itemized list for additional charges which they say will not be evoked before notify you first c) a form saying any cancellation will be charged 250 [This is to prevent from you terminating the service right there since they've already have some of your stuff on their truck!] d) only cash and US postal money orders are accepted, and e) payment has to be made prior to unloading.

Sixth, after you sign these documents, they'll load up all your stuff, take a long detour to drive to your final destination (getting some food along the way to prepare for the prolonged battle), and ask for about 4-5 times the quote amount. If you don't give that amount to them in CASH there and then, they'll threat you to move all your stuff to their storage and charge you a lot more in order to get them out next time. [Look, the moment they do this, you can all 911 for robbery!] Most ppl will not be successful in negotiating with them. Since they do this every single day, almost always they manage to extort an obscene amount of cash before they unload your stuff.

In my case, they quote was 80/hr, agree to waived the travel charge and promise there is absolutely NO HIDDEN CHARGE. After a 6 hour moving, they ask for 2,200, adding up each blanket they used to wrap furniture, each tape role, each stair flight they walked, each stop they made, and the tolls.

As soon as I called their listed phone number and suddenly "Natalia" directed my call to the cell phone of the mover. So I knew what happened right there. I called 911 and a couple lawyer friends and they didn't have the jurisdiction or legal power to help right away. I'd have to spend time on a NJ small claims court to resolve the matter. I yelled at them and eventually negotiated it down to 1500. I was not amused and have decided to write this review.

If you are a victim, in addition to sending the email, please visit protectyourmove.gov and use the link "How to Submit a Claim" to file a claim (choose the first of the two option on that page). That way, the company will be served a letter from Federal government. If your move was inter-state (origin and destination in different states), that agency will send investigators. If your move is inner-state in New York (even though that sham business is located in NJ), then call NY DOT at 518- (ask for Trish). She's very helpful and will send you a complaint form and they can help file claim against the company on your behalf! Let's join force and save other innocent fellow citizens from being scammed.
