Mr.Plumber 1800 H.O.T.W.A.T.E.R Ripped off an older vulnerable woman RINGWOOD VICTORIA

This is something that really pisses me off, tradies that try to rip off older, vulnerable women abusing their trust and using fear and intimidation just so they can make a few dollars. A widow rang the company 1800 H.O.T.W.A.T.E.R who sent out their contractor Mr. Plumber who charged $ 132.00 plus GST to come out and fix it. He turned up the dial on the hot water service to "Hot" from the normal position it had sat in for years, turned the water inlet tap to nearly closed and then proceeded to tell her that it would be $ 800.00 to repair it with a $ 120.00 part or he could put a new hot water service in for $ 1,800.00 over $ 600.00 more than others were quoting. Got his money then left.

A short time later the guy from 1800 H.O.T.W.A.T.E.R started ringing and ringing saying that your unit needs to be replaced straight away and we can to it tomorrow or you won't have any hot water, real high pressure aggressive sales techniques. She asked if she went ahead with it would she get her initial fee back and they said "No". He actually got quite annoyed when she said she wanted to check around with a few other places.

This was no exaggeration as I was there for one of the calls and heard it all. She went down to the local plumbing and even the old time plumbers there were shocked by what she had been through and put her on to a local guy who changed over the same unit the others were quoting for $ 1095.00.

They will not answer any calls from her now as she wanted to complain about the service. Share the s*** out of this as this could be your mother or grandmother they target next, these guys are grubs!
