I contacted Music in Motion to install a KVH A5 Mobile Satellite system in my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited vehicle. I spoke to Tom, who stated he does about (6) of these a year and the cost would be $600.00 dollars for the installation. I booked an installation time on the following Monday to have the work completed.

Monday, December 22nd 2008

I arrived at Music In Motion at 9:30AM before the company had opened. I waited for the employees to arrive and entered the building. Tom was there and he was running around with multiple people waiting. After about 90 minutes he finally came out to talk to me and my wife regarding the installation. He said that the installation would be finished in the same day and wrote up a work order to have the following completed:

1.Install the TrackVision A5 Satellite Dish Antenna on the Roof of the vehicle. (Provided by Customer)

2.Install the two 9.4 video screens in the vehicle headrests. (Provided by Customer)

3.Install a TracVision receiver and complete wiring to the dish on roof and tv screens.

4.Install a FM modulator to play the audio from the satellite receiver through the car speakers.

The total price out the door was $1500.00 dollars. The break down was as follows:

$600.00 Install TracVision A5 satellite dish

$395.00 Purchase a NEW TracVision satellite receiver as my unit was missing a wire needed

$25.00 Purchase - FM Modulator for sound

$480.00 Install and Wire the 2 provided LCD TV headrests

I received a call at 4:00PM telling me that they would not have the vehicle done on that day. I was pretty upset at that point as we were planning to use the vehicle for the Chicago Bears game that was taking place that evening at 7:30pm. Tom assured me that the car would be done by noon the next day and apologized for the holdup. I told him that I needed it by noon the next day as I had other things I needed to do before I left for my trip to Mexico.

Tuesday, December 23rd 2008

I called Music in Motion at 11:15AM and was told that they still needed more time. At this point I was pretty furious. I then sat in the waiting room till about 2:30PM when the car was finally finished. The car was then pulled outside to the front of the shop. The weather was horrible and it was snowing very heavily. A worked named Mike gave us a 10 second preview and I immediately noticed that the TV screens had a horrible distortion on the screens. This is referred to as noise. He looked at me and said you will need to speak to Tom regarding that. I walked inside the store front and questioned Tom about the issued which he then put back on the installer who just show me the car. This was all done via a cordless phone that he was carrying around with him. Tom then told me he would have to order a Video Amplifier to correct the issue and he did not have any in stock. He then told me that the screens I have are s**t and I should buy some screens from him. I told him the screens were fine and there is obviously an issue with the wiring. He said he would order the parts and call me back. I notified him I was leaving on vacation for Mexico and would not be back in the USA for a week.

I then returned to my vehicle to see that physical damage was done to my Automatic Temperature Control Module which controls the blowers, AC, Heat, Etc. The lights on the right side of the unit were no longer working. I called the shop and spoke to Tom who told me they didn't even touch that unit but he would take a look at it. At this point I was furious the car was not working correctly and now a piece of my car was physically damaged.

I finally said enough is enough and took it elsewhere! BEWARE AND DON'T GO THERE!
