MWI Connections A charge against my debit card for $139.95 and phone calls to my residence wanting more personal info re: my debit card ripoff Connecticut

An unauthorized charge appeared on my bank statement against my debit card from 8/14/02, made immediately after I had placed an order with Amazon.Com - The company's name is MWI Connections, the charge was for $139.95, and I had never heard of them.

Also since 8/14, people had been telephoning my residence wanting to know more personal information about myself and my debit card account. Last night, 8/26, I stayed on the line with one of these people, and tried to find out who they were and why they wanted to know these details. When I inadvertently let him know my name and phone number, he hung up. I called my bank and had be debit card cancelled.

Today I investigated the charge against my debit card (I had just received my bank statement over the weekend), and believe MWI Connections and the people who were telephoning my residence are one and the same.

I just now telephoned the 800 number listed next to the MWI Connections charge on my statement. I told them the $139.95 is an unauthorized charge and demanded my money be refunded - I have a reference number next to the charge I told them I could give them to look up the information. The girl I spoke to, and then her supervisor who I spoke to, both refused to refund the money without my providing them my address. I told them I would not provide them my address, because they shouldn't need that information for authorization, after all they made the charge against my account without that authorization. They refused to refund the money, and I told them I would report them to the police and the Better Business Bureau.

So, I am now in the process of reporting them to the BBB, and I am going to continue to call that 800 number in an attempt to get my money back.
