I am not a client of Ms. Shoemake's but I do know her and I've caught wind of the problems she is having with her business. It's sad but not surprising. She is fairly well known in the community. Her business has been successful but it is also well known that she has significant personal problems that have probably affected her business practices. A positive comment from her daughter on this website does not hold much weight given her personal family history.

I can see why folks don't want to use their real names. My advice if you don't have the time to file a true report. Find an alternative accountant. There are plenty of competent people out there.

Twenty years ago my mother started her business out of the basement of our home with less than 100 clients. Because of her dedication to her work, her passion for each client, and her commitment to doing each return with superior quality, her business has climbed from those 100 clients to well over 2000. Her clients know she is an expert in her field, they have never had a problem that wasn't an easy fix, and they understand that her character is not ever to be negligent about a return or a client.

There is not a woman in the world that can raise three children, start a business out of nothing, and build her business into a success story if she is negligent and careless in her conducting her business.

I would recommend to any client that has a problem to go right to the source. Nancy is always available by email, and she has several outstanding employees with plenty of experience that would be willing to deal with any problems quickly.

I would like to understand what my office has done that has been "negligent". Also, it would be helpful to know what "mistakes" you may be referring to.

I have a difficult time when someone does not use their own name but hides under a "facade" and does not voice their opinion and/or concern to our office.

If you want me to address your concern then why don't you pick up the phone and communicate with us. We can not address a problem we know nothing of.

We have been in the business for 20 years and have worked diligently to treat people "the way we wish to be treated". While it is unfortunate, there will be people who are not happy with our services.
