"This was reported to RFP management to no avail," BY FORMER Nashua Radisson & RFP Management Corp Engineering Director, Wayne P. Saya, Sr, a former Executive Director of the Association for Facilities Engineering, US Patent holder (inventor) in electronic safety systems, a certified professional facilities engineer, and a Public Safety License holder within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts”.

In fall of 2018, OSHA conducted an inspection of the Nashua Radisson Hotel, results of investigation showed numerous serious safety violations and citations issued included dangerous exposure such as; employees exposed to electrical shock from water leaking main volt switch gear, employees exposed to scalding burns due to inoperable hot water mixing valve, circuit breakers exceeding allowable amperage indicating burned components, boiler room components and supporting equipment severely deteriorated from lack of maintenance, water treatment and operating out of manufactures intended parameters.

(US Department of Labor Citation and Notification of Penalty on Citations 5 Serious and 3 other violations inspection number 1318299, public filing of two employees both links at end of statement below.) This Radisson hotel was found to have several electrical hazards in the main electrical and pool area, persons exposed to live electrical equipment, electrical equipment not free from recognized hazards, unused openings in panels not covered, and circuit breakers and disconnects not labeled, voltages not identified on electrical panel.

Also inspection found violations on the control of hazardous energy program. Just recently on December 17, 2018, OSHA received yet another complaint against the same Radisson Hotel in Nashua it had recently fined $21,000 (Inspection: 1368187.015 - Afp, 105 Corporation), this time for ceiling shock hazards against employees working within the maintenance department. The apparent cause for this is reportedly from an antiquated roofing system that has leaked continuously for an undetermined number of years.

It is this roof leak that has caused major ceiling and inner wall mold concerns, along now with the actual possibility of causing electrical shorts and shock hazards within hotel ceilings. OSHA is now investigating. The Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) incorporates a Code of Business Conduct and Ethics that includes Health and Safety, where "All business operations of the Company will establish and maintain employee and guest health, safety and security programs and property protection programs in compliance with government regulations, Company policies and standard operating procedures.

Employees are expected to know and follow all health and safety rules, policies and procedures for the area in which they are working.” OSHA cited in its earlier fine findings "employees were exposed to electrical hazards while standing/walking through water to empty a barrel used to catch water and vacuuming water from the floor from water leaking into a 480 volt main electrical panel employees exposed to electrical shock and burns while working in close proximity of live parts on a 480 volt electrical panel partially covered only by a piece of rubber, public exposed and other serious concerns for the safety of the public and employees.

Wayne Saya confirmed he was told by the Nashua, New Hampshire Fire Marshall that there are currently several thousand pages for that hotel, in addition the recent OSHA fine of $21,000 for that hotel is the largest in the City’s history. At the time of this writing other serious concerns have been under investigation by the City, although not necessarily federal government related still requiring immediate repair and an endangerment to public safety. Fire safety issues, fire pump supplying water to the hotel’s sprinkler system possessing a number of operating concerns due to a number of severe deferred maintenance and non-testing.

Dangerously corroded roof (balcony) which is the ceiling of a swimming pool pump room and guest balcony. Corrosive pool water chemicals used within this room have contributed to corrosion of the steel trusses holding up the concrete guest balcony. Unreliable emergency generator, vintage and corroded. MOLD INFESTATION and UNLAWFUL MOLD/ASBESTOS REMEDIATION (Fire Code Violations under RSA 153:14 ii and NH Rev Statue Section 275 E. Serious violations under Chapter Saf-C 6000 State Fire Code, and NFPA 70 of the National Electrical Code).

As a matter of public safety, a substantial black mold infestation consisting of live black mold spores within a number of guest rooms was unlawfully abated, where a conscious effort was made not to communicate with the Nashua, NH public health officer, a local city resource for indoor air quality whom is known to conduct site visits and make recommendations to remediate indoor air-quality problems. The role of the Environmental Health Department is to protect the health of the public by defining, eliminating, controlling and managing environmental hazards within the City of Nashua.

Nashua code requires a demolition permit and testing for asbestos – which was not performed. Nashua, NH Code Article II, section 128, section 7, Control of particle Emission, is one of the protections the public health officer uses. Wayne P.
