Naional City is Out to Rip Off!!! it's Customers. On July 10th we discovered that we (my wifes account) was over drawn. By her being on fixed income and not receiving her direct deposit until the 1st of the month and me being a laid-off auto worker and not receiving my unemployment until the 16th.
We incurred overdraft fees plus at least 5 days of thier $8.oo a day continuous overdraft fees ( which is a joke) So after all the Fees and fees we were aprox $190.00 overdrawn.
On the 17th I made a deposit for the $190.00 when i got the receipt it showed that we were still $24.00 over drawn, It seems we had incurred more overdraft fees. So I went back to my Bank (Chase)to withdraw more money to cover the $24.00, I deposited $30.00 into my wifes account not more than two hours from the first deposit. Which showed a +$4.54.
Thinking we were safe that was that. On Tues my wife checked her account just to see, and guess what? still overdrawn and more fees for over the weekend. -$34.00 and climbing
Called the phone center on Tues and was told that there was nothing they could do, it was up to the branch. Went to the branch (Rana) on Wed and was told they could do nothing it was up to the branch manager (Cynthia) who was not in and would be in Thur. Went to branch on Thur and was told she was not in and not going to be in the rest of the week.
Very Irate I tried the phone center again who put me through to the Loss prevention department(Shanika) and explained what I was going through,She put me through to the District Manager ( Josephine) who spoke to my wife ( for security purposes) and told her that she would waive the fees and bring her account to a positive balance, So about three hours later my wife checked her account and found that her was still overdrawn -$3.64 so byFri we will incurr more daily fees
Once current with this account we will be moving her to (((competitor's name redacted))) where they will give her $150.00 for opening an account there

head start on your new fees. They'll easily collect that back and then some based on your current money mismanagement habits. All banks are the same.

This will happen again at the new bank...

You should expect to be charged these fees at the new bank unless you two adjust your spending habits. The cause of your problems can be found in the first paragraph of your report:
"On July 10th we discovered that we (my wifes account) was over drawn. By her being on fixed income and not receiving her direct deposit until the 1st of the month and me being a laid-off auto worker and not receiving my unemployment until the 16th."
It sounds as if you or your wife wrote checks or authorizing debit card transactions before there were available funds in the account. That's called overdrafting and of course the bank is going to charge you the overdraft fees plus the continuous overdraft fee that she agreed to when she opened the account.
In the future you should wait until deposited funds are fully available before using the money in any way.
