I'm curious to know if anyone else has had this experience.
Received a demand letter from John Pugh at my current address outside Sacramento County. Requested Validation of Debt.
Received Subpoena 2 years later to landlord seeking records. Looked at the court case online in Sacramento and saw suit was filed.
Traveled to Sacramento and pulled court case and saw that Proof of Service was performed at my old address which NAC and Pugh would have known was not valid. NAC & Pugh received default judgment after delcaring that I was served at last known address and that all documents supporting debt had been lost or destroyed.
NAC & Pugh waits 2 years for Statue of Limitations for a Motion to Set Aside Default Judgment expires on my behalf and starts aggressive collection actions.
I have a strong feeling that I am not alone and this is not an isolated incident.

This is a common practice of bottom feeders to "accidentally" have the papers served to an old/incorrect address where they know you won't be....so when the court date comes along and you aren't there...they get a default judgment....It's sleazy but it works.
You can try to have the judgment revoked based upon being served at the wrong address.
