DO NOT USE THESE BROKERS/MOVERS

My story is much like the others posted, so I will not alarm you with the details. My stuff arrived 3 weeks late. I packed everything myself, so nothing (except the handles on my furniture) was damaged, although the boxes were smashed, torn, and in otherwise compromised states.

I was not extored for more money because I had the CO police, the Distric Attorney, a lawyer, the NY police call these people to let them know I was on to them. I also called my "brokers" and the moving company endlessly. I asked for and received the weight stamps of the truck in advance.

This was done at Greenbelt in NY. This is a recycling company who weighs things on the side. The woman there (Taylor) was awesome. I faxed her the weight stamps to see if they were legit, and she in fact said that they were not. The "tere" weights were missing and she informed me that I needed copies of other stamps (the diff between the weights) before I should pay. Unfortunately, the weigh stations do not keep records of the trucks.

The "brokers" at one point said to me "it is our job to find the movers for you, nothing else." So DO NOT USE A BROKER...they are worthless!

Access Van Lines was the worst...they do not return phone calls. They have caller ID and will not answer the phone most of the time. This was evident when A) I called from a blocked phone number and the call would not go thru,a nd B) I called in the morning and a man answered (told me to call back in 15 like he always does) and when I called back (after 10 other tries) 3 hours later, a woman answered and he said in the background "Colorado? Hang up." They then proceeded to not pick up the phone for 2 days (until I had the NY police call them). they picked up my stuff 2 days late (without bothering to inform me they would be late..and NMN did not bother to inform me of this either).

To my credit, I "made friends" with the sales guy at NMN. After Sandra, my broker from NMN, avoided my calls I repeatedly called the sales guy and made him get involved. To "resolve" my situation they gave my stuff to AY Transport...at the time I did not know or care that they are affiliated with Acces Van Lines (they have the same addresses listed), because they actually brought my stuff. When they arrived, I had the police there to make sure they didnt damage any property while driving thru my community, unloaded stuff efficiently, and to protect me since I am a single female. They tried to charge me for stairs, but NMN had already figured this into the price...so I was able to show him documentation of this.

I am truly sorry for all of those who are reading these reports in the midst of being scammed...I did not see these until after they picked up my stuff and were already 10 days late. These reports upset me so much and I became so crazy about it, I ended up very sick. There is a light at the end of the tunnel...keep digging, keep threatening, keep your chin up.
