National Relocation contacted me regarding my request for an estimate on a move I was making to Chicago. Lisa from sales contacted me. I gave Lisa the exact number of things to be moved and given an estimate of $930. During the estimate conversation, I specifically asked about extra costs including the issues with a city move.

I also requested a time frame for delivery to the city, which she told me was 3-5 days. My pickup date was August 29, 2008. Upon pick-up I was given papers to sign in a rush. I only received 3 documents out of the several that I signed, when I asked for copies the gentlemen waved off as nothing. One such document, asked for an earliest date of delivery, which I wrote in September 3, 2008.

On arrival in Chicago, I contacted the company to ask for an estimate of delivery, which a gentlemen (Brett or Jeremy, they tended to switch a lot) said delivery would be either Friday or Saturday. The days came and went and I called again on Monday. I once again spoke with Lisa, who very rudely said there was no way to track the truck and National Relocation had no means of doing so. To get me off the phone she said she would call me back upon further checking which she did not. I was able to find an alternate number for them, under the suspicion that they were avoiding my calls.

I called back, to which Brett let me know that my number showed up on the caller id, which gave me the impression that my calls were being screened. The real issues began to arise Wednesday afternoon when the driver of my shipment contacted me saying he would either be here Thursday or Friday, but that my neighborhood did not allow big trucks. Which the company did not inform me of before the move, when I gave them the address. So that...I would have to pay an extra $350 dollars to have my stuff shuttled by uhaul from Skokie where the driver would park.

When I called the company back to dispute the extra charges they said I signed a paper allowing that, however, I have no such copy. From the start I gave them my exact address and made sure I knew the issues that may arise with moving to the city. However, the copies of paperwork that I have or even looked over said nothing about a shuttle charge, only a stair/elevator charge.

This company is running a scam to get more money. Not only did it take two weeks to get my things, which I still do not have, they are extorting money. This company has a staff of rude personal who care nothing for customer service. When Lisa told me they couldn't track the truckAlenn actually said it's not that they couldn't but they wouldn't.
