Nationwide Hire 4 U - Europcar Rip off, Incorrect damage report, Rude Staff, Like talking to a wall only less helpfull. Taking money without asking. Watford Hertfordshire

My experience with Nationwide Hire 4 U and as a result of them being a broker ,Europcar, has been the worst car hire experience i have ever had. I booked a 7 seat automatic people carrier from nationwide hire 4 u. A couple days before our departure we call them to confirm the booking and all the datails, everything seems fine. One the day of delivery im called an hour before we are due to leave and im told there are no 7 seaters would a 5 seater do. i say "no".

After much waiting and arguing a car tuns up but its a manual so we have to change our driver which does not please us. The car was covered in scratches and the damage report was half incomplete. I take photos of the scratches and after checking over the car with the driver get him to amend the paperwork.

We drive off and come home 3 days later.

The car was ment to be picked up from my house at 6 so we hover it and wait. No driver comes for the car and the very rude staff tell us we either have to take it to them or keep it over night. I explain that someone will have to come first thing in the morning at 8:00 8:30 latest. they come at 9, 15 hrs late.

I out of interest check with my bank whats going on with my account as by this point i don't trust them at all. It turns out they had a pending payment on my account for 377 for europcar(a small part of which would go towards the agreed cost dispite this not being on any of my booking information). After a little calling and a lot of holding i discover they want to charge me another 250 towards damage on the car. A total damage cost of 500.

Since then i have been pushed around ignored and been generally treated very badly by both companies.

I urge you not to use them and ask that if any has resolved an issue with Europcar before to let me know how the did it.
