I was contacted by this company "Nationwide Information Group" via the telephone at my work. The person that I talked with told me that her name was "Sarah" and if I ever needed to contact them for any reason refer to her as agent151.

I was told that I had been pre-approved for a major credit card with a limit of 1,000 dollars. I asked what the name of the card was and she said either a Visa or Mastercard which-ever I decide.

I asked what was the intrest and she then ventured to tell me that "Nationwide" is an information company and that she could not tell me that information over the phone, but would mail me the information. I thought ok, then she went on to explain that she would have to charge me a one time processing fee of 219.00 .

I tried to decline and she told me that at that time if I would accept this offer I also would recieve my choice of either a television sattelite or a cell phone absolutely free. And even told me that I could cancel if after I got the info in the mail and it was not to my liking for a full refund.

So, Sept. 26 of 2002 the company "Nationwide Information Services Group" drafted my checking account for 219.00 . Thirty days go by and nothing, so I called the number and got only an answering machine. I left all my contact info on the recording with my so-called contract number. Someone did call back and told me that my package was already sent via ground mail. And that the package consisted of an application requesting information pertent to recieving a credit card. And also a book on credit resources and various information.

What I recieved about three weeks later was the book, the application with also release forms stating that they had to be sighned in order for my card to be issued. The forms were desighned to release "Nationwide" from any fault, I now understand. But I percieve that I have been scammed very deviously and decietfully and worse is they have my credit information now.

But also, I made a copy of the papers that were sent and have the book also. And because they will no longer answer my phone calls it comes as no suprise that I find out that others are victims of this crime also. I hold these copies in the hopes that if a lawsuit is ever filed I may have a chance to get my money back and see crooks like this come to halt!
