NCO Financial Fraud ripoff Philadelphia Pennsylvania

I had 2 accounts with Capital One. I paid off one and the other went into collections. I paid off another collection agency for the matter with Capital One back in December of 2003. Then in January of 2004 I get a letter from NCO stating that they can settle it for me if I will just send them $860.00 (more than I already paid off in the first place).

I called Capital One and they said that neither my husband or I owe any money to them and we have to more open accounts with them. I called NCO and talked to George Thomas at 866-378-2735 and told him what they told me. I gave him their number and told him to verify it for himself. He said that if Capital One didn't know anything about it then why should he call?

I decided to dismiss it but then in March NCO sent another letter saying I should use my tax return to pay off my account with Capital One. I called Capital One AGAIN and they told me the same thing. So I called NCO and told them to stop harassing my husband for the money because we don't owe them.

I just filed a complaint with the BBB and I hope this will stop. They've been calling here at least three times a week.
