I initally contacted Neighbors 3 days before my move as a last minute cry for help. I spoke to the Customer Service rep named Kerryann at the Orlando company. After listening to the deal she said we could have (1 hr transportation and 2 hrs moving,) I of course had questions. While having my phone on speaker so my friend and partner could hear, she informed me that the clock doesn't start until they lift the first piece of furniture and that transportation time could be used as a 3rd moving hour if the drive to the new location was short. I couldn't believe the deal! That and they would be at my door at 8AM. Sounded amazing!

Kerryann setup the contract and emailed it to me. It had the 3 hours spelled out as transportation and moving labor, but just so I would have it in writing, I emailed her back and asked. I then signed the contract.

The day before my move, I received a call from dispatching, a man named Michael. He told me that he had me down for 2 hours and they would be at my door at 1PM. I immediately said Kerryann scheduled me for 8AM. 5 hours later will not work for me. He told me he apologizes and he would contact me if an earlier opening became available.

I immediately called Kerryann back and she was rude right off the bat. She said, "I see you preferred mornings, yes." I said, "Well correct me if I am wrong, but 1PM is not morning." She asked me if I would like to speak to a manager and I agreed. She immediately hung up on me.

I sat staring at my phone in disbelief. My phone rang about 10 minutes later and when I answered I hear, "This is Sean." I said, "Sean who?" He replied, "You wanted a manager, right?" I said, "Rude much?" I then explained about the lies being told about labor/transportation time, scheduling time, and how Kerryan had hung up on me. He told me she didn't hang up on me and that she immediately told him to call me so I wouldn't become an irate customer. Who says that to the customer? Like really? he then told me it says black on white on the contract that times are not guaranteed. I then read the contract to him and said, "Nowhere does it say that!" He ignored it and then said no company anywhere will allow transportation time to be used as labor. I explained that 4 other people heard her confirm it on the phone with me and that since I had never hired a mover before how would I know any different. He eventually grew silent for minutes at a time and I had to constantly ask him if he was still there. I said, "I don't think that this woman should have told me this info if it wasn't true." He said he agreed. When I asked him what he was going to do about it he said he didn't know what I wanted him to do. I then said, "Apparently talking to you is a waste of my time?" He said, "Is there anything else I can do for you?" and then hung up.

My father called him and explained to him that this is bad business and he was being very unprofessional. He asked Sean what he would do for us to which he said he was not going to get involved with the "he said/she said" stuff and that he was going to do nothing for us. My dad said, "if you have an employee lying to potential clients just to get their business then you have to get involved as a manager.

I then called back to cancel the contract. At that time I didn't care and was just gonna give up the $100 deposit. Michael called me back at 5:30 and offered to have them at my door at 8AM and include a 15% discount. Promptly at 8AM the next morning, Father and Son moving showed up at my door. I was never told it would be a different company doing the move. The driver didn't like the contract that was given to him because a lot of places had "squiggly lines" through it so he made me fill out a whole new contract form. Seriously?

On the contract it says in bold letters that the quoted amount on the contract is subject to change and if we want an accurate total we need to contact a sales rep and they would provide one for us, which I had. I confirmed with both Kerryan and Michael that the price would be what I paid. The contract given to Father and Sons had an extra $35 fuel charge. I immediately argued it. The driver told me about that quote on the contract. I told him I had done just that and I wouldn't pay it. He eventually took it off.

To sum it all up, horrible customer service. They are liars and are willing to yes you to death just to get your business. Management? Untrained and unprepared to act as management. I found out afterwards this is an F rated company with the BBB. Their rates might seem great, but please pay a little more and go with someone else. It will save you many headaches in the longrun.
