So, as so many others have seen, Thomas Gilmore posted ads for "eBay sellers Wanted" on Craigslist. Also like many others, I applied because I needed to pay bills and the economy sucks. The deal was, we would post Ralph Lauren Polo shirts on ebay in lots of 6-10 (2-3 lots a day), he would charge us for the shirts (ranging from $14-$15 per item plus shipping), we pay for them, and he sends the orders to his shipper who then delivers them. Ok. Sounds a little funky, right? Well, there are many legitimate "dropshipping" businesses. I figured I could make some money while selling on eBay (which I already had been doing for over 7 years). The first batch of orders came in, I sent him the money and waited. I continued to do this until i noticed he kept saying "we'll get tracking numbers within 48 hours", then "Any time now", then another excuse. I stopped sending him money until he could show me things were being shipped. Finally I got confirmation numbers for 4 orders. Alright, maybe he was having some trouble. I sent him the rest of the funds. Never saw another order. I got dropped from eBay for "suspicious" activity for 2 weeks. My Paypal account was being held by people who hadn't received their items (and I didn't have their money by the way, i had sent it to Thomas who was supposed to fulfill the orders), then after being reinstated by eBay, I was suspended INDEFINITELY. Yep, my 7 years of perfect customer service and sales, down the drain. My only means for income during my college semesters, gone.

I am now in the red with Paypal some $2,000+. I have met other people along the way who have had the same experiences. We are all filing complaints with everyone. I have given him multiple chances to fix his mess and prevent a lawsuit, but he fails to comply. Instead, gives me the same run around. I have filed with IC3 (federal), my local police, my State police, Florida Police, Paypal, eBay, Bank of America, and my Attorney General. It is only a matter of time before he is caught. There are now a band of us and he will not be able to hide for long. He is scum and he will be found!

If you have had bad luck with neoclothing, Thomas Gilmore, or another scammer in this business, I'd love to hear about it. When we come together, we can make things happen.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Neoclothing

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 16, 2009

I was almost duped by this scam on craigslist and (thanks to some good advice) decided to pass on it. I want to post my story in the hopes others can avoid getting duped by similar "monkey in the middle" scams.

Also, I do want to see this con artist get caught and put in jail for his crimes. I have filed a complaint with the feds, kept in touch with a few other folks involved in this scam and want to do something constructive.

I gotta say craigslist folks saved me from this guy! Thankfully, a wary eBay seller in another state simply posted on craigslist "Is this a scam?" I found the post by googling the text of the ad, "eBay sellers wanted" + scam. Took me right to the post. I also googled Neoclothing, the con artists' gmail address and any other keywords I could think of.

In all honesty, I was in the same frame of mind as Jade and thought I saw an opportunity to make a little side income off of my eBay hobby. IRS: leave me alone type of thing ;) :- :) OO :(.... I saw Jade (and others) going for it on eBay and thought "why not give it a go?" The con artist even suggested I check eBay to see if it was for real. He wanted me to think he was legit. I saw what the neoclothing fake goods were selling for and was considering stepping into the fire. Pictures of the bogus items looked good....

I am college educated, experienced as an eBay seller and in no way a complete fool. I say this because I could have easily leaped into this scam and gotten burned. I think this con artist is at least semi believable, sophisticated and knows his stuff. Come on, the fact that he may still be out there is the proof. This guy is slick.

My email correspondence with this con artist is available if you or anyone else wants a copy. Study it to see for yourself how the con works. Don't be the monkey. By the way, if you're the con artist you already got my AMF.

My thoughts are the person responsible for this scam needs to be criminally prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law.

P.S. eBay/ Paypal was wrong in slamming Jade and the other eBay sellers like they did. Ethically, why punish the victim? You have only made a bad situation worse.

Polo Designer Wholesale Polos Fake Products Ebay Dropshipping Scam Rochester New York

AUTHOR: Anon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Hi,
I too was ripped off by these people. I already filed a Ripoff Report for them. Search Polo Designer or Wholesale Polos. His real name is Robert Marmarosh from Rochester NY. I don't think I can list any other personal information of his. His products are more than likely fake. If I were you, I would contact the authorities about this, seeing how much money he scammed you out of. Also, you can search Craigslist and Ebay for his products and get them removed. Just flag them as spam in Craigslist and in Ebay, mark them as a counterfeit proudct listing violation. I have had many of his listings removed this way, so that he too can start to suffer financial losses.
