I purchased sunglasses from Netshades.com/Infonet Holdings in early July. They were cheap quality, damaged and used. I immediatly contacted Netshades requesting a RMA # (Returm Merchandise Authorization)which is required for all returns stated in their policy. Upon receiving the RMA# I sent back the sunglasses and all enclosures in the original shippping box I received them in. I received confirmation from Netshades that they were received and the amount of my refund to be issued. A month and a half later with no response to emails I have not received a refund. I am out $150.00 & the merchandise. They are a scam, stay far, far away. If you go to ebay you will read in their feedback of the the same tactics. I wish I had known they sold on Ebay and what their reputation is before I placed an order.

It is now the end of September, and I have yet to receive the $112.50 refund for the $150.00 sunglasses I purchased from Netshades back in July. This is not what I would consider a prompt refund of customer money, nor high quality service. In addition, I was ever contacted by Netshades regarding my report on Ripoff.com or my order, with a solution on rectifying the matter, once again, not what I would consider high quality service.

Since Netshades mysteriously has no record of my transaction, they should start out with the RMA # they provided for me to return the merchandise, RMA # 62618495. I am confident Netshades will then find my order. If not I can provide copies of the emails from Netshades to me, the last one from them asks if I want a refund or a credit. It was when I replied to their email requesting a refund that I never heard from Netshades again, until now. In addition, I also have copies of the numerous requests for a refund I have emailed to them since my reply email.

As far as Paypal is concerned, I most certainly contacted them about this transaction and Netshades. I also have emails from Paypal regarding this situation. However, because I did not purchase the sunglasses through Ebay I was not covered under the buyer protection policy. In Netshades own words Since 99% of our customers pay using Credit Card or paypal, I find it hard to believe that someone feels that they lost their money. They do have the ability to recoupe any amount paid. This is what Netshades is counting on so they do not have to refund money. Let Paypal, the credit card companies, and consumers absorb the cost and take the loss.

As a reminder see their feedback on Ebay and you will see they have a history of this practice. Do your research first before buying from unreputable companies.

As an employee of Infonet Holdings company netshades, I would like to take this chance to respond to this report.

I would like to first state that we don't have any record of this transaction based on the information provided by the poster. If this transaction did infact happen, I'm sure there is more to the story reported. I can confirm that our company works hard to provide the highest quality of products and service to our customers. Like any company we do make mistakes but work hard to keep them to a very low amount.

Since we have no real details on this transaction, we can only reply with the fact that all our merchandise is new and never worn or used. All merchandise comes direct from the factory or distributor. We have a tradtional outlet store that we sell returned or display merchandise. So it sounds as if the customer was unhappy with the fit or size of the product. That is fine and we do allow returns.

As a discounter we do have policies that we conduct business under. We have many customers that return and exchange merchandise with no problems. We want our customers to be happy with their purchase. However if a customer is wanting a full refund we do charge a 20% restocking charge. Since we are an online retailer, we do have fees such as credit card fees, shipping expenses etc that are incurred when someone places an other. Most online retailers will give full exchanges but will change some type of fee to cover expenses on refunds.

Our customers are refunded in a timely manner from the time merchandise is received back to our faclity. We have a customer service staff that works with customers to help them in this process. Since 99% of our customers pay using Credit Card or paypal, I find it hard to believe that someone feels that they lost their money. They do have the ability to recoupe any amount paid.

Last as per our companies feedback and rating on ebay. Our company does sell on ebay. We sell hundreds of items a month and have over 6000 positive feedbacks which repesents 99% positive on our transactions. Many of our customers are repeat customers and our happy with the quality, value and service received.
