This is how they obtain your personal info from you, they don't have it unless you give it to them yourself!

I understand you feel NetSpend is trying to obtain your personal information for malicious purposes.
Like other financial companies, NetSpend is required by their bank, as well as MasterCard and Visa associations, to be compliant with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) laws. Both laws require that all financial institutions verify the identity of each account holder. To verify your identity, NetSpend would need your name, social security number, date of birth, and address.
