I was approached by phone at the end of September for advertising with this company. Reluctantly, I went ahead with the advertising not realizing that I would be charged before I received any proof in the mail.

When I saw the charge for $100. OVER the amount I was quoted, for a total of $399.50. I went to my bank and disputed that this was a scam.

The bank started an investigation, closed the card immediately. I emailed the company that I wanted a full refund and that I have reported them, I then received a very indignant email  I was recorded on the phone call and that I knew what I was  doing when I signed up.

Is there any recourse that I can do at this point? My bank has been very good so far but I want the actual scammers to return the funds.

AUTHOR: Christopher Dagen - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 20, 2016

This Customer agreed to advertise on the Lakeland City information Guides that go out in a EDDM Every Door Direct Mailer. When she agreed to be the exclusive realtor I transferred her over to our Quality Assurance Department. At that time she was on a recorded line where they read back the information and what she is purchasing. They asked her how she wanted to take care of the charge and she gave her credit card information. We have audio of her purchase and charged her credit card for what she told us she wanted to buy. 2 weeks later she said she wanted a refund that we scammed her. When I told her we had the whole transaction on recording  and we would gladly refund her that we could and did easily replace her with another realtor. I'm not sure what we did that was wrong or how we scammed her and I take offense to this. She says she didn't realize we would charge her card right away. She was told she would get a paid invoice w9 for tax write off and ad copy instructions with in the hour. Clearly that states that she was paying for advertisment that day. I would like her report down since we did not scam her. I authorized a refund to her card the day I spoke to her and she asked for a refund. We don't scam anyone and gave her money back even though we didn't have to. She was on a recorded line buying advertising in the form of EDDM That mailing is going out through the USPS at the end of November.
